Built my first ever PC last summer, was amazed at how simple it was and couldn't be happier with how it performs. I saved $1K over what it would have cost to have an identically configured rig built by a 3rd party. Just do it! - Jev McKee, AVSIM member since 2006. April 17, 201214 yr Author Thanks guys. I can see now that this is definitely what I am going to do. I am still in the research phase of my build, but I will at least hit the ground running. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to build. I think I will go with the i5 right now, as the difference in price is apparently not worth the little to no performance increase. I will probably stick with the same GPU and for now I will not install a heat sink fan. I do not plan on overlocking my system right away. A.) I don't know how (Unless you use NVIDIA Inspector) B.) My current FSX standards are so low that anything better than the bare bones I have now will be impressive c.) No overlocking=no after market cooling device. When I do overlock down the road, I will get a better cooler. Of course, the intel stock fan will work just fine until I overclock. I can't imagine installing a processor without a cooling fan at all :LMAO: .
