Would removing the 2D and even VC help frame rates?

Featured Replies

I want to use my main FSX only for the front view (outside). Using three monitor setup in a hw cockpit setup.

Now, is it possible to remove any of the 2D Panels or other aircraft panel config tweeks to disable or remove from add on aircrafts help frame hits? Or would this not help?

If it does help, what are the things I can remove from an aircraft configs/panels?

I tried hitting "S" and "A" keys to get the outside views..but since the aircraft has loaded all the panels. I did not see any FPS performance gains.

Removing 2d panels would not give any more frames, no.

actually it does. I am running 3 displays with a hardware setup and fsxpand networked. I commented out in the 3d vc and the performance gained was enough to use TH2G

Hi Manny, I use three projectors and a tripleheadtogo Unit for my home built 737-800. I am using Project Magenta software, and like you don't require 'inside of plane'. Some years ago, to avoid having to press W, W to get rid of inside views, P.M. provided me with a new Panel cfg to replace the default one within Simobjects\airplanes\boeing 737-800\panel. This means every time I start the sim I just have the forward outside view. I can however still look around (from within) with a little tweak of my own that gets rid of inner cockpit views. And, yes all this does save a few FPS. I could send you this panel cfg, so see if you can e-mail me, and we'll take it from there.
