April 19, 200422 yr Hi All / Rob,I'm wondering if there is a way to permanently turn off the "RealView" feature in the RealAir Scout? Of course I know that when you start a flight you can turn off the knobs after calling up shift7, but even if I then save a flight with the feature off, it seems to turn itself back to a default "on" setting when I select that flight again. Is there a way to get it to remember the "off" setting, or perhaps make a change in the effects / guages folder to accomplish this? Thanks,Joel
April 21, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Joel,I have just made a patch available on our site that when installed will set RealView to be off by default. With this patch installed, RealView is still available for use, but you have to turn it on at the start of each flight.I also uploaded a patch to our site last night that replaces the turn coordinator on the minipanel with an airspeed indicator.Cheers,Sean.
April 21, 200422 yr Guys, what is "realview"? This is a feature I hadnt heard of?!?Im not a user of this plane, but am interested.Eric AND
April 21, 200422 yr Its sort of a "head physics" effect the guys at RealAir have built into the Scout VC. When you hit turbulence or do any radical maneuvering, your virtual head moves slightly in contrast to the cockpit of the plane. Its a nifty effect that adds to the immersion (for me anyway). Its something I've sort of gotten used to from playing some of the "serious" race sims over the past couple of years as games like NR2003 and F1C use a similar idea...
April 21, 200422 yr Good description. If I may add:- RealView is adjustable in pitch, and has an on/off yaw function. It is a subtle effect. Its key feature is that when doing extreme manoeuvres like spinning or looping it behaves smoothly and doesn't make sudden changes. It also has what we think is a very realistic effect on the VC view when traversing bumps on tarmac or grass.Kind Regards,Rob Young - RealAir Simulations Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
