April 24, 200422 yr If I fly over the east end of Long Island, NY, the land/coastline around Montauk on the South Fork and the surrounding area shows as horrible texture squares, no proper edging. Looks like the tiles in my kitchen which are all peeling up thanks to the cat peeing on them. I remember seeing something about this way back, but forgot to check the forum to see whether this was a genuine issue.Anyone else have this, or do I have a faulty texture install in this area? And if it is a fault, anybody fixed it? I fly that way a lot, and it's about time it looked pretty for me.Thanks in advance to those who know these things.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
April 24, 200422 yr I fly to and from Long Island alot (to and from ISP) and I too have those blocky textures you described. Unfortunatly I don't know how to fix it.
April 25, 200422 yr Author I do not have it, but have you considered the Megascenery New York package if you fly in that area locally a lot?I don't think it fixes the GW Bridge, though, but don't quote me on that.(Former Queens & Bridgeport resident thinking about this package.)Maybe someone who has it can look at that area for you. It includes most of Long Island looking at the ads. Thourough review recently in Computer Pilot (yes, published by same distributor but it seemed not partial).
April 25, 200422 yr No, don't have Megascenery yet, and may not go for it; there is a freeware equivalent in development that may outstrip it.That said, my issue is with the default scenery, in any case. Is it really that badly finished in that area? Anybody else? And has anyone been clever enough to fix it, if so?Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
