April 25, 201214 yr http://emarciano.free.fr/RwyAdv/ Any comments? Is this something that's used in RL often? I ask because this is the first time I hear about something like that. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
April 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member As mentioned in the link yes it is used fairly often. It is a company option and is fairly expensive to kit out a whole fleet but eventually it will become standard. A few airlines that use it are 'Fedex' on the MD11F, Lufthansa, Emirates. As far as I am aware this add-on does not provide a synthetic voice for the landing runway. Check out the PMDG main forum, you will find a topic called honeywell runway safety systems, a user is creating his own version with a lot more detail. https://honeywellrunwaysafety.com/ Regards Rob Prest
April 25, 201214 yr It is becoming more common for airliners to have it, since it is relatively simple technology, basically not much more complex than the GPS in your car which tells you which road you are on. Runway incursions at places such as JFK and the difficulty in seeing where you are in fog have driven the push for it. You don't desperately need in for FS, but it is inexpensive and even free if you hold out for the one detailed in the PMDG forum. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
