April 25, 201214 yr When I hit the panel icon, or Shift+F10, to bring up the kneepad, I get the new window, but only a black screen appears and in a few seconds FSX shuts down. I tried searching this, but found no answer. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a workaround to successfully bring up the kneepad on the panel? (I'm running Win 7, 64 bit)...Thanks in advance... Lee
April 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member Don't know if you're using ENB or not, but my frames drop to 2 or 3 FPS when I open the kneeboard with ENB active. Never seen a CTD as a result but it's certainly unusable. Frames don't return to normal after closing the kneeboard either, but I find that opening the map will reset whatever it was that got messed up and return FPS to normal again. If this is the case with you, try pressing Shift+F12 to disable ENB prior to opening the kneeboard. Jim
April 26, 201214 yr Author Thanks Jim, for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't solve my kneeboard problem. Using your advice, I still get the black screen and subsequent FSX shutdown... I wonder, does anyone else have a suggestion as to how I can successfully access the kneeboard from an aircraft panel?...Thanks, again... Lee
April 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Does it help at all if you Alt+Enter into windowed mode before opening the kneeboard, or are you in windowed mode? I know you don't want to have to do that, just wondering if it makes a difference. (Bumping the thread if nothing else ) Jim
April 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member You can add a panel Icon for the kneeboard. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
April 29, 201214 yr Author Jim, I'm already in windowed mode. (Thanks for the bump!)... Dave, An Icon other than the existing one on the MS 737 panel? Using the latter (or, Shift+F10) causes the FSX shutdown...Were you suggesting moving the kneeboard Icon (in the panel.cfg) to a new location on the panel?... Thanks to you both, for your suggestions... Lee
