I uses PMDG 747-400 and have the Saitek Switch Panel with Landing Gear and the Saitek Radios Panel:

 

Here is what works:

 

Radio Panel - Full Functionality

 

Switch Panel - Landing Gear up and down with lights on the panel works, Panel lights switch, although you need to switch it up and down several times to light it all up, first switch is just the knobs, second time will do backlight, 3rd time will do overhead, 4th time will do more cockpit lights (all on). Landing Lights Switch, full functionality.

 

I can't seem to get anything else working, maybe you can?

With SPAD. I cannt boot my PC. the POST freezes at USB connect. I traced it to Saitek switch panel. Without it connected my PC boots up good.. Afte the boot I connect it to the PC and then it associates SPAD to the Saitek switch panel. But then when I load FSX, SPAD is gone. I have to dbl click to get SPAD on again.

 

When I installed the Saitek driver, then everything is ok just like any other device.. except like the OP said, many of the switches don't work.

 

So its a catch 22 for me with this Saitek switch panel. I wish they had just left it to FSX assignment instead they trying to assing it themveles. Not sure why they did that with the Saitek Switch panel. If it wasn;t for the Gear switch and the threee green lights I would have thrown the saitek switch panel out the window!

 

 

How hard is it to develop a twin engine switch panel with a flap switch and a landing gear up/down thingi and leave it as control withing FSX to assign the keys? Yet no one has done one without the exhorbitent $4000 PFC unit.

 

I bought a card and have tried out with some switches I got from Radio Shack and got it all working as a proof of concept... But the problem is the landing gear up switch and the led for the landing gear is where I cannot do. The mechanical aspects of it is beyond my skill set. ....for now! :)
