April 30, 201214 yr This is really cool. The pilot jumped out minutes before the crash and the aircraft was controled remotely from a spot plane: http://travel.usatoday.com/flights/post/2012/04/boeing-727-crash-landed-in-mexican-desert/683824/1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mtM8R7KWyY&feature=player_embedded Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

May 1, 201214 yr Author Why would you do that to a vintage 727?!?! To learn from it. Every automobile model designed goes through crash testing. Aircraft does not. This is rare for them to do this sort of thing and I think the last time was NASA crashing a Boeing 720 back in 1984. Doing this they have placed cameras all through the aircraft to see what happens. This will be featured in a show in Discovery Channel. I find it fascinating to see how things things stand up and I am a big fan of Mayday (Air Crash Investigation). Their are still plenty of 727's in the world and unfortunately that model has been banned in some countries (Australia is one). So you can't fly them everywhere anymore anyways.
