May 3, 201214 yr Hello, downloaded this software earlier this week but uptill now I do not get any warning message . When I start FsRaas it tells me it is connected to the flightsim ,so it seems to work but further nothing will be heard. Even landing on a taxiway did not bring it to life. Since it was downloaded more then 800 times,I wonder if there are others with the same problem. I am running FSX SP2 + FSUIPC under WIN XP. Hans.
May 4, 201214 yr I'm eagerly awaiting a reply too- this looks like a great program. Cant believe it'd be freeware. I belive there's another program that aims to do the same thing but it's not been released yet. I will gladly pay for a stable, solid version of a RAAS product. May 4, 201214 yr Hello, downloaded this software earlier this week but uptill now I do not get any warning message . Since it was downloaded more then 800 times,I wonder if there are others with the same problem. I am running FSX SP2 + FSUIPC under WIN XP. Hans. Just tried it, an it worked fine for me. Started off in a C172 at EGNM, taxied towards the runway and it announced 'Approaching 3-2' turned left onto runway 14 and got 'On runway 1-4', taxied to the far end where the turnaround point is, got '2 thousand remains' as I approached the end of the runway, then '1 thousand remains', then turned on the turning apron and got 'On runway 3-2'... Took off, and did a circuit before landing, when I got 'On runway 3-2' I did not get any announced taxiways, however. There are two things that I can imagine would cause it not to work... #1 some sound cards cannot share their DirectSound interface with multiple programs, thus when FSX is running you would only be able to hear FSX, and not any program in the background. If this is the cause of your problems then no other FSX util that adds sound (eg, vasfmc, any of the FS2Crew programs or similar, or VATSIM voice) would work either. Should be fairly easy to test (just run a media player in the background, does running fsx cut off the media player?) #2 You're using runways that are on addon scenery, the readme states that if you're running addon scenery, then you need to run makerwys to rebuild the 'r4.csv' file to match your scenery.
May 5, 201214 yr Author Hello, thanks for advising, I tried your advise concerning the soundcard, but it plays any music during running FSX, so it seems this part is correct. Indeed I have lots of addon scenery and actually used runway maker, which created a new r4.cvs file which I placed in the FsRaas map, overwriting the standard one. I am afraid that this also did not work ! So if anybody else has another kind of solution. I already did send an email to the developer, but untill now I did not get an answer. Hans.
May 6, 201214 yr Is it available in the AVSIM Library? Yes, it was listed as one of wednesday's uploads: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=168150&CatID=fsxutil
May 7, 201214 yr Author Earlier today I got an answer from the developer, who told me that you need to have the newest FSUIPC versions : " .......requires at least version 3.987 and 4.609 or later ......" Since I have older versions from FSUIPC it seems the reason why I dont hear anything.
