Fatal Error with 2D Popup FMC open

Featured Replies

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this, it happened two me three times during the past two weeks and for now I can surely say this has something to do with the FMC 3D popup window

On all three occassions I opened the 2D FMC panel on approach in order to be able to focus on the ATC but at the same time, see all the essential info such as waypoints and stuff like that. Otherwise I never use the popup FMC.

And suddenly, the little transponder window of Squawkbox turns white, the for a few seconds the whole FSX window turns kind of whitish, transparent, similar to when something is loading, loading and no response - and finally, FSX exits, giving me a "fatal error" message.

Never ever has happened before, only since I fly online (Squawkbox) and the 2D FMC panel is open.

Try running the installer and selecting repair. Make sure security is not causing the problem by running 'as admin.' Make sure squawkbox isn't part of the problem by trying to reproduce error without it. Good luck.
