I purchased the MD-11 when it first came out a few years ago, and it since that time i had some time away from FS and had to reformat my PC and i did so without backing up any of my FS files. My question is, can i still purchase the extended download service now to re-install the MD-11? or is it something you have to buy when you first get the aircraft? thanks

Providing you can log onto your account with PMDG on which the original purchase was made, which you should be able to do if you have access to the account info or email or whatever, then you can buy an extended download for your product well after the purchase has been made. I've actually done that a few times, so I know it is definitely the case.

Yes, this is what it's designed for - you don't have to buy it at the time you buy the plane.
