June 1, 201214 yr Hi. I just purchased GEX North America. Currently, I have FSX installed on an 256 GB SSD (E:\Flight Simulator X). It appears that GEX wants to default it's install to C:\Program Files (x86). Since I want to install on the SSD, should I first create a directory there, and then change the installation of GEX to the directory on the SSD? Thank You.
June 1, 201214 yr I would install GEX on your non-SSD. When the GEX interface is run the texture files are then copied from this drive to the FS drive which in your case is the SSD. I changed the directory path to C:\Gex to keep things tidy. I have no need for a Program Files path on a drive that does not have Windows installed nor would I install it to the default path anyway. I set mine up like this and works ok. I don't want my SSD cluttered with installation files. All my flight1 files etc are extracted to my SATA drive and installed onto the SSD.
