May 12, 200422 yr I saw TV program about flying and learnt that Extra 300s can roll 400 degrees in one second.I tried rolling the 300s in FS9. It took about two seconds to complete 360 degrees. I was flying over the sea with no significant scenery in sight.I would like to know, how fast can you perform this manouver on your systems?I only hane Athlon XP 1800+ 512 M Geforce4 MX 440 graphics card.
May 12, 200422 yr Being very un-scientific, I was counting "one Mississippi, two Mississippi", & so on. It appeared that I was getting a revolution for about each count, which is half the time of yours. I also don't know the range of entry speeds for rolls in the Extra. That could vary the roll rate too --- I believe.L.Adamson --- Athlon 1900XP/Geforce3Ti500
May 12, 200422 yr Author >I would like to know, how fast can you perform this manouver>on your systems?:-hmmmI doubt it has anything to do with the speed of ones system. Most likely it is flight modelling itself or the precise application of aircraft controls that matter most.Michael J. Michael J.
May 12, 200422 yr >I doubt it has anything to do with the speed of ones system.Don't agree. The speed of your system determines how fast the planes reaction and attitude changes can be calculated. So on slower system it takes longer time to calculate the planes new attitude.>Most likely it is flight modelling itself or the precise>application of aircraft controls that matter most.>Why model the plane to react slower than it should?Maybe I should had added I turn the yoke fully right or left as fast as I could.

The flight modelling computation takes negligeable amount of CPU resources comparing to everything else. It is only if fps drop to somethig like 10 when flight modelling is being affected but then it is almost impssible to fly.Michael J. Michael J.
