June 8, 201213 yr hi gents, if i were to add a gtx 285 to my system would that affect my FSX performance in any way? I know it will be benefitial for games that use physX but was just wondering what will it do to FSX....thanks in advance i7 4790K 4.8GHz, 16GB DDR3 1866MHz, EVGA RTX 2080 XC. 1TB M.2 SSD, 4TB HDD, 4K display. P3D v4.4, FSLabs 320, ORBX Global, Vector, Fly Tampa Airports, FSDT Airports, ActiveSky, REX Sky Force
June 12, 201213 yr Outside the cockpit - yes. Inside - I believe only a few planes exhibit increased performance with SLI. I only look outside the cockpit view when sight-seeing so for any useful sim-ing, SLI isn't terribly useful, IMHO.
June 12, 201213 yr Honestly, if you fly in the cockpit, you will see no performance increase. Don't waste your money on another 285. Get a 480, 580, 670, or 680.
June 13, 201213 yr Author A friend gave it to me. I didnt pay for it. So far im good with the gtx580. D:). June 13, 201213 yr Oh, you have a 580 now and you want to add something like a 285 as a secondary card, I see. That should work, but if I were you I would ski the hassle and sell the 580 and pay a small difference to get a 670 or 680.
