June 11, 201213 yr Hey Fellow Simmers I have been exclusively flying this excellent product for years, it has given me hours of pleasure and kept my brain active way beyond its sell by date. For the first time ever, however, I seem to have a problem. I seem to have misplaced all cockpit sounds, regardless of 2D, external or VC view. All was fine one minute but on starting a new flight after an overnight rest stop (LOL) I noticed that undertaking the normal “check list” did not generate any normal clicks or warning sounds, bells, buzzers or anything. Cargo Fire Manual Test = nothing All variants are affected. I can hear the engines running, as well as rain hitting the windows, other aircraft and vehicles passing external to the cockpit. Double checked the manual and a quick search of the forum has not generated anything useful Any helpful ideas gratefully received. Many thanks in advance. Stuart
June 11, 201213 yr Author Nope because everything else is working just fine and to be honest I was trying to avoid such a heavy handed approach. But if that is the only option I will give it a go. Many thanks for the input, kind regards Stuart
June 11, 201213 yr Ok,but i don't get it,why not try this way to fix this issue, also if you still can't fix it,you should submit support ticket. BTW,sign. Jia-Hsing Fu
June 12, 201213 yr As far as I know, the installer has also a repair function which leaves your liveries etc current. Otherwise you have to install them again with a full re-install. John

June 13, 201213 yr Author Many thanks to one and all for the helpful hints. All helped narrow things down but I did not need a re-install. I have to thank Paul of PMDG support for helping me get to the bottom of all this and its a new one for me. Basically, I took a look at the sound settings across windows 7, FSX and the sound card software itself. Once I had aligned all three and made one element the default, things started working again sound wise in the cockpit. Quite how this happened I have no idea as I have had the sound card for two+ years and NOT made any other changes to system, settings or software since it was installed or bwteen the two flights. However, it does go to show that just because I use one airplane add-on (PMDG MD11) on a dedicated FSX computer it does not necessarily mean that when things go wayward in the cockpit of the PMDG MD11 then its necessarily the add-on to blame. Thanks again to one and all and in particular Paul of PMDG support for his patience and help in getting this sorted. Regards Stuart
