$50 for some computer parts...should I get them?

Featured Replies

Hi, a buddy of mine at work wants me to upgrade my machine so we can play BF3 together..but my joy is always Fs2004, which I look forward to with the upgrade. He wants to sell me following items for $50 total:

MSI P55- GD65

Intel i5 750

and possibly a power supply that has more juice than what I have currently (if he still has it)

I thunk its a great deal, I would just need a video card and memory

What do you all think?

thanks

Bill

$50 for the stuffs isn't bad. If FS9 is your main sim for few years ahead, you could get Phenom II 965 BE 3.4Ghz for $110, or $99's Phenom II 955 BE. They will double your rig's performance, but based on your sig, I think you need to upgrade some hardwares to catch up with DDR3. Especially your RAM

Again, $50 is not bad for i5 750.

Yes, need to get new ram and a pci express graphic card for the mobo. And I think I can upgrade to a i7 on the mobo too.

Great deal to me.Get it. With 8GB RAM(if you can,RAM are cheap nowadays) or 4GB and a nice nvidia VGA will boost Fs9 all the wayy

Thanks for the replys. I dont have enough money for a new pci express video card, so a guy at work is letting me borrow for the time being his older Geforce 7800GT. I take it I should see a significant improvement going from AGP 8X to PCI Express 16X even thought its an older card from my older X1950Pro, which has a faster clock speed and double the memory than this 7800 card. He will also let me borrow 4gigis of memory that he has laying around his place. Will install Win 7 64bit too

My sig has my current specs
