June 13, 201213 yr Holiday in Lisbon :-) and... 3-2 Portugal vs Denmark :-) A visit to a good'old friend who owns in excess of 700 simulation programs (go figure...) gave me the chance to finally try: - Xplane10 with the best add-ons - AeroflyFS - DCS p-51 as well as a review of fsx with some of the greatest scenery areas ever developed and aircraft as well. On the train back home all that I could think about is that, in fact, and to my satisfaction, I made the right choice when I decided to get fully dedicated to MS FLIGHT. I wasn't wrong, at least in as far as my feelings, sensations, experience goes. I'll definitely save my €€€ for MS FLIGHT DLCs :-) P.S.: Not really MS FLIGHT related, but something I needed to share .... June 13, 201213 yr Commercial Member I think its good to know that you tried many other sims, and still pick Flight. Yes, the others have more content, but there is just something about Flight that simulates flying so well for me. The only other sim that even comes close to simulating the feeling of flying is XP10, but it just look horrible and the UI is the worst. How did you like AeroflyFS? I have not tried it myself. It looks amazing! Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer

It looks amazing! AeroFly is graphically very appealing, and also gives a great sensation of flight, but, there would really be no point for me in investing on it right now - limited fleet, limited features/systems (MS FLIGHT is limited but offers more), and for the gliders I still find either Condor or SilentWings way more complete/detailled. Anyway if I had the time /money to spend on an additional sim, either AeroFly FS or DCS p-51 would be my next acquisition. Problem is, I don't, and regarding DCS p-51, appart from flying the p-51 around Georgia, I would have no other motivation because I really don't like the military aspects of flight.... June 13, 201213 yr Commercial Member I personally have always been very impressed with the technical aspects of the DCS line. The problem is, I dont want to stick my head in a manual for 3 days just to figure out how to start an A-10. Sometimes I just want to fly! I love FSX and Flight for the fact that you can hop into the sim and do a quick flight with very little effort. XP10 also suffers from the overly complex UI. Took me 2 hours to configure the joystick!!! I love Flight, and I loved working on Flight. There are some aspects I wish were different, and I really want more content, but overall its a lot of fun and I think what is there in Flight, the team did a great job on it. Took me 2 hours to configure the joystick!!! and, unfortunately suffers also from many glitches that have long plagued it's flight physics, weather model, and other aspects... I am waiting for xp10.10 64 bits to test it yet another time.... Austin's private airplane is going to be included as part as the default fleet, so, I am looking forward for a realistic bahaviour at least from that model.... (sorry, back to MS FLIGHT...)
