I am having a problem at Bangkok (VTBS) airport. I have a freeware scenery for VTBS (I don't remeber where I got it from). I went to look at my AI at the airport and at first my AI is fine, but after about a minute my AI textures would go blank. Before when this happened I would try to exit the sim but that is when my computer would freeze and I would need to hit the reset button, but this time I sat there for a few minutes after the textures went blank trying to think what to check next and I noticed the textures popping back on! Then after a few seconds they would go blank again. After that I waited again and the textures would come back on. Whe the textures came back on I was able to exit the sim and the computer did not freeze up.

 

PS: Whe the textures came back on they did not come on all at once. Just a few at a time. And this happen with the default area and a AFCAD for VTBS.

 

Is anyone having similar problems at VTBS?? Anyone have any idea what could be causing this??

I don't have a specific answer for you - hopefully someone else will, I can tell you that I remember trying a freeware VTBS a year or two ago and finally giving up on it.

How are your computer's specs? Are you running light on system memory and/or graphics card memory?

 

Does this scenery tax your system more than others, frame rates and such? If you scroll around to look at the scenery, is the motion smooth or jerky? Have you looked at other highly-detailed sceneries to see if the problem shows up there?

 

Have you tried changing the settings to reduce the detail level?

 

Are you using default AI, or something customized?

This is only happening at VTBS, I de activated the scenery and just used a AFCAD and the problem still happens. This does not happen anywhere else in my FS world. I have installed my own AI plus World of AI traffic. I don't not think it is AI related because I took out most of my traffic and the problem still happened. Then I put back the traffic and deleted the other traffic that I left in to test out but the problem still happened.

 

I have high lots of high detailed airports from Aerosoft, Fly Tampa, and lots of others and with the AI traffic at 100% I get pretty good performance and decent framerates.

Ok I kind of figured out what was causing my trouble. I have scenery for the other Bangkok airport (VTBD) I de activated that scenery and everything was working fine at VTBS. I spent 15 minutes there and no textures went blank or anything.

 

Now I have no idea what could be wrong with the VTBD scenery that could be causing trouble at VTBS. I don't even know what to look for. Anyone have any ideas?
