2 FDE questions, elevator trim and cruise pitch

Featured Replies

Hi.

I've been trying to get a somewhat realistic airfile of a fighter jet. So far most things are ok, but I got two issues with trim and pitch.

The pitch trim in my AC seems to have to small effect, but when increasing "elevator_trim_effectiveness" it seems as the trim becomes more "coarse".

Another issue is also related to trim, in high speed (from m0.95) the nose starts to pitch up, I can't figure out how to decrease this effect withouth interfering with lift in general.

Any advice?

Regards

Jonas

Re the second issue Look at tables 410 to 465 in the airfile. There are a whole bunch of tables there that refer to "delta xxx due to mach" and these can be used to control all sorts of behaviour based on the aircrafts mach speed. One of them is bound to be pitch related.

Thanks, I'll give them a go!

Are you sure that the real aircraft doesn't pitch up at high Mach No?
