Quick Vid demo of Trackir + online smoothness

Featured Replies

As titled. I still need to reinstall all the downloaded aircraft files, so I only saw UFOs and a couple of other stationary planes, but they moved real nicely! Very impressed.

For those without trackir, checkout Camera Mouse, it works REAL well and tracks your facial features, allowing x and y movement (not 6dof but heck, it can save $$$ and still allows you to look around)

FYI, you can download the "FREE PREVIEW" of all the DLC aircraft to get rid of those silly UFO's. Just download the preview for each DLC, and it will replace the arrows with real aircraft.

Thanks Kevin. Yes I'd done that previously, but in my migration of various files to an SSD, I lost ALL of my downloaded data (I didn't move Flight of the main SSD, but must've trashed some important files from my harddisk!) I was impatient to check out the trackir. Done now though.

Ugh... headache from default zoom fish-eye distortion...

But nice demo!

I couldn't figure out how to look around, but I did use it to control the plane with my head. :LMAO:

hahaha, yes you could do that. Just don't sneeze!

Yeah, I'm now reducing the field of view a little, but I don't mind it sometimes. Sheesh, I can have it at that wide view, with maxed settings other than no. of objects. Incredible stuff. I feel they've also increased the LOD for all the buildings, even the high-rises from a distance are highly detailed. I think they've employed alien programmers this time.

The extra peripheral vision is nice, but I just can't handle the bizarre-looking circular distortion of everything and have to look away after a few seconds.

Even pulled back to .8, I don't like how distant and unimpressive it makes the terrain look, although the distortion is mostly gone.
