RXP 430 GPS in XP10 3d Cockpit

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just purchased the RXP 430 GPS for XP and installed it in XP10. It seams to work just fine. However, Id like to have it display the 430 GPS screen over the default 3D cockpit GPS screen in some of my Carenado aircraft. searching on the web, I read that you can not manipulate the GPS drawn on the instrument panel, just have it display there.Thats fine, Ill use the popup window to adjust the GPS. (I think there is a way you can fiddle with it to acually adjust it in 3d mode, but right now Ill be happy just to get it to display in the 3d cockpit)

From what Ive read on the RXP manual, I need to edit a config file in the RXP directory, but it needs coordinates of the GPS screen in that particular plane you want to install it in. How does one find out these coordinates? I assume in plane maker. Anyone do this yet?

I messed with this enough in v9 to just give up. If you can find the coordinates ( a witching wand is handy!) the resultant display is so poor quality (nothing even close to FS4) that it ######es you off for the time you just wasted trying to figure out how to do it. If someone has a magic pill that will make this worthwhile please spill the beans for our benefit.

PS. Had I known about the language filter being set to such an innocuous word I would have used much worse language!

Nils might be able to help. He was able to get the 530 integrated with the BK-117.

Thanks strider1,

Ive sent NIls a PM. Maybe he can point me in the right direction. Im fine with it just as a pop up, but I love a challenge and love to tinker, so Ill see what I can figure out.

Rob

Let me know how that works out !

I'm hoping Carenado can get the RXP 430/530 integrated in thier ADD-ONS sometime sooner then later !
