May 22, 200422 yr Hi all, I am using Eric Marciano's awesome, A320 panel with the IFDG A320. Everything seems to work fine but I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the audio messaging after it first sounds. I get allot of traffic alerts thanks to FS9's ATC. It is kind of distracting listening to TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC on approach. I really don't want to disable the sound because it is useful. Any ideas?Pat Callaghan Pat Callaghan Jr. Ryzen 9-9900x Asus Tuf Gaming 870x 64gig DDR5 ram, RTX 4070 Super Win 11 Pro
May 22, 200422 yr Yeah its extremly annoying. Solution? Go to the Flight simulator 9Sound folder and find the .wav file called Traffic.wav. Move it to another folder for backup or if you have the wav extensions shown, do as me rename it to traffic.bakup or something like that.
May 23, 200422 yr It is bloody annoying isn't it??!! The first time it went off I nearly had a heart attack, and it scared the 'stuff' out of my two cats too....!!! LOL!! Solution?Find the 'traffic.wav' and open it in 'Sound Recorder' (Start/programs/accessories/entertainment), and use the decrease volume function under the Edit tab. When you have lowered it to a more acceptable level, save it and go try out the sim.It may take a few attempts to drop the level to where you can stand it. I have mine now so that it is audible, but below the average ATC volume level.I'm sure that in reality it should be loud enough to grab the flightcrew's attention, but in the sim it does become unbearable as it's barking away non-stop at a busy airport, even though there is no real threat from any of the close proximity aircraft! It's the only gripe that I ever had with Eric's brilliant panel, and one that's easy to fix. Ifdg's A320/321 and Posky's A330 are my main planes for flying and Eric's panel makes them a joy to use!
May 23, 200422 yr Thanks to you both for your replys. I will probably try to lower the volume first but I think eventually I will dump it.Pat Pat Callaghan Jr. Ryzen 9-9900x Asus Tuf Gaming 870x 64gig DDR5 ram, RTX 4070 Super Win 11 Pro
June 16, 200421 yr Thanks for the tip too. It was driving me crazy too!Gavin Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
June 16, 200421 yr I addition you can also stop the audible warning by hitting the EMER CANC red button on the page keys panel - the warning will recur if the 'emergency' is still around after 60 sec however.just another weapon for the arsenal in the war against catfright:) regards,Mark Regards, Mark
