Can't see my wings

Featured Replies

Hi

Having a texture problem with all the big planes in FSX, 727, 747, and the Airbuses. As you can see from the attached picture I only see the strobe lights or whatever they are called, where the wing should be.

Please help, don't know what too do, even tried a reinstall once(Including the OS) but that didnt help.

Im using DirectX9 setting.

Open the fsx.cfg and make sure see_self=1 is in the graphics section. Worked in FS9.

Best regards,

Jim

Also, some aircraft are modeled without VC views to the external wings--which I believe is true of the default Airbus in FSX.

Looked in the config and it was set too 1, tried to use 0 instead and then changed it back didn't dolve the issue.

Does this count for all the default heavy's? Also have the Airbus X payware and it's the same..

What plane is that, and why does it say unregistered version?

Its the default Boing 737, the "unregistered version" comes from the Freeware JPEG converter i use, if I pay It will go away.

Thanks for all the replys, guess i can live with it but would have been great to have this solved

Some payware vendors will model the wings so they can be seen from the virtual cockpit. Some don't, under the premise that the wings can't be seen in real life from the cockpit and in order to save on polygon counts and thus gain better performance. I only purchase GA aircraft and usually all the outside surfaces are made visible from the virtual cockpit.

What you see is not strange or a problem with your setup. The default jetliners don't have wings modeled in the VC, so you'll indeed only see the wing lights and such. As a result, there is nothing to "solve", as there is no problem.
