May 24, 200422 yr I downloaded POSKY A330-200 and Eric Marciano's panel. Both are terrific. I have two problems, however, I can't answer with the FAQ's and was looking for some help. First, I can't change the heading/course setting for the AP in increments of one degree (usually 10 or 3). Second, when I tried to land ILS at KJFK by pressing the APPR button after I was on the glideslope indicator, the plan simply nosedived into the water. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance
May 24, 200422 yr Author hi,answer for 1: you need to dig into FSUIPC technical page settings and activate "increments of 10mhz" or similar...i'm not at home right now to provide the exact trigger name, but you will find it! :-)answer or hint for 2:i usually activat(e)d the APP button before intercepting the LOC and GS -no problems so far.i've used Eric's panels until recently, but changed to another one because of the following reason: I saw regulary FPS drops from avarage 30fps down to 3fps..with regulary i mean every 30sec or so even if i do not touch the plane or view, just standing still..this lead to continious micro stutters, whih are annoying during critical flight stages (tunrn, approach, landing, takeoff)..it seems, that "something" is updating "something" regulary...maybe NavData, i don't know.. i was almost trying everything, every available tweak, etc but no luck..i recently changed to the A330HE panel (he330v1.zip at AVSIM), which i will adapt slightly for the A320. have you got any micro stutters with this panel? The thing i didn't change so far is a new soundcard, but i can not imagine that sound is an issue...at least on my other panels i didn't see that issue.... hope, this helps!cheers, harald
May 24, 200422 yr Thank you very much Harald. I will try this. As to FSUIPC, I just downloaded it but I could not register with the key listed for that panel as a freeware key. I will try the ILS method you suggest.I agree, there seems to be stuttering and decrease in fps even when nothing is going on. I don't think it's the NavData because I haven't been able to use it because of the FSUIPC problem I mentioned. I may try the other panel and see how it works. Thanks again.
May 24, 200422 yr Erics' panel does NOT require a fully licensed version of FSUIPC, and nor does the Navdata...Eric has already aquired whatever license is needed to allow his panels (A320-A330) to work on the freeware FSUIPC; though he does point out that there may be occasional glitches where the Heading and Speeds go in increments of 10...as indeed they do, but for me at least that problem doesn't last long....never during any 'critical' parts of the flight! If you cannot get the Navdata to show, make sure that you have installed NavData correctly, and then run it from the Start menu, and ensure that you have Eric's gauge config.cfg file in the FS9 guages folder....that file is available on his website via a hotlink in his FAQ's. Without this, then you will not get any Navigation data, or TCAS showing.I use this panel a heck of a lot...I love the airbus's from IFDG and POSKY, and this panel works like a charm for me, and I don't see any stutters that I can attribute to it either....no stuttering that isn't already present in FS9 anyway, and the frame-rate remains pretty constant even though of course it changes significantly at busy airports, but when in flight, away from city's etc, it's stable at around 28-30 (locked at 30 fps).Hope this is of some help...
May 25, 200422 yr Thanks for the info. I will try the NavData. I'm still frustrated by the sticking gauges and couldn't get them to work on landing. I have the freeware FSUIPC so I can't do the fix suggested. I didn't have the gauge config file, so maybe that will help.
May 25, 200422 yr I guess this isn't going to work without buying the full FSUIPC program because I can't fix the autopilot gauge without it. I don't mind paying for software, but having gone through the trouble of downloading the program and Eric doing the panel as freeware, it seems a little odd to have to pay 20 Euros to the FSUIPC fellow who claims he's offering the program as freeware for freeware applications like Eric's panel yet it won't work unless I pay him for the program. Maybe I don't understand any of this. If anyone else has this problem, let me know if that's what I have to do. Thanks
May 25, 200422 yr Author hi,well, i understand zour frustration and it|s strange that it doesn't work with the provided license code...what you can try is to contact Pete D. or write your problem in the FSUIPC forum. As with regarding to FSUIPC, not only you have access to all functions it provides access also to other important FS settings, i.e. visibility, wind, cloud restrictions, etc. so, IMHO the euro 20 is a good investment for the future.don|t give up!cheers, harald
May 25, 200422 yr That's odd...!!!It works perfectly well; all you have to do is make sure that you download the latest A320_v22/A330_v22 files, download the NavData and Guage Config; all from Erics' site, and make sure that you get his newest version of the FS9 A320/A330 update guage.Install exactly as per his instructions...more details are contained within the supplied html file in the 'Docs' folder. So, all guages, including the FS9 update A320.gau/A330.gau (overwriting any older versions) into the main FS9 'Guages' folder. Also copy and paste that Guages Config file into the FS9 'Guages' folder. All sounds go into the main FS9 'Sound' folder. Put the folder 'Panel' into your desired aircraft folder, replacing whatever was supplied as default. From the supplied 'Modules' folder put the FSSound module into the main FS9 'Modules' folder. Do NOT move the supplied 'gps_export' module unless you're using FS2002...just ignore it if you've got FS9. Make the ammendment as instructed by Eric into your FS9.cfg regarding the Old Modules:-(OldModules) *should be square brackets*FSSound.dll=1Once you've done all that....open up the NavData folder and run the Setup.exe. Then go to Start/Programs/Navdata and run it. It'll take a few minutes to complete. Once done you can close it, and go run FS9.Select your Airbus and you should then be able to see waypoints, VOR's, airports, etc on the Navigation display. Also you should see the TCAS system working on the same guage. It does work...honest!! I don't 'think' I missed any steps out in my guide...I hope you get it to work...it's well worth it!! Any other quieries should be addressed to Eric's site and his FAQ...(I had a similar problem with no NavData showing until I found that guages config being linked from the FAQ).Good luck :)
May 25, 200422 yr Thanks for all of your suggestions. I have installed it all per instructions with updated gauges, etc. and everything works well except for the heading/course dial, which makes it impossible to fly since I can only set it in increments of 10. I'll look into fsuipc purchase, I am unfamiliar with all of its functions so it may be worth it, I just didn't expect to buy it to get the freeware panel to work, but I don't have access to the technical page in the program.

The heading will increment by 10 when the barometric setting is set to "STD", and will increment by 1 when the barometric setting is set to the actual numeric value eg "29.92". So all I do when I want to increment by 1 is to push the baro button to display the value, set my heading, and reset the baro to "STD" if needed. I have no idea why.Solved the problem for me, hope it works for you. By the way, I dont use the registered version of FSUIPC. Warren
May 25, 200422 yr Thanks! That barometric pressure setting seems to do the trick for me too. I really appreciate it.
May 25, 200422 yr Hey Wad....Thats a pretty neat trick...I've never noticed that it only goes in those increments when set to STD.....I just thought it was a random problem...cheers. Going to try that one out!!
May 25, 200422 yr Glad I was able to help. If you want to read more about it, check the IFDG Forum (search E Marciano). Now if I could only solve the regular stuttering issue which only occurs with this panel. As soon as I swap the panel for another one, it is OK. Its a rather annoying when on finals or landing.Great panel otherwise. Warren
May 26, 200422 yr Author same here..would love to fly with this panel and was also very near of buying his A340 panel, but the regulary stuttering kept and keep me still away...i tried a lot of tweaks but none was working so far...now,i use the A330HE panel and gone are the stutters. anyhow, still a great freeware panel!cheers, harald
