No Warning Beeps

Featured Replies

Hi All, my research on this has mostly revealed people trying to get rid of the annoying nav beep, but my problem is the opposite. My beeps have all gone, the nav beep, the overspeed beep and presumably any other warning beeps. Otherwise all sounds are fine, it’s just the beeps. Only thing I have tried so far is a reinstall without success. I would like the beeps back, i find they very helpful.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

Seems to be any that I try, but to answer your question the ones that I have noticed it on so far are as follows:-

Cessna C172SP Skyhawk

Boeing 747-400

Bombardier Learjet 45

All as standard FSX install.

Thanks for the reply.

bigglesfred,

If I remember correctly you have to press NAV1 or NAV2 buttons on the radios panel for the beeps to sound. Just setting the dials is not enough.Try it to stand with any airplane at the head of a runway, set the ILS dials as per the airport (one with ILS services) and then press the NAV1 or 2 (this is not the NAV/GPS) button.

Good luck,

MAB

Thanks but I do know how to get the NAV sounds but isn't there an overspeed beep too - that's gone. All other sounds work fine, its just the beeps. have tried a repair/reinstall but that didn't help but the missing sound file theory stands a chance I suppose. Is there anyway to extract them from the DVD?

Oh hum, bit of humble pie here. After spending the morning completely uninstalling fsx, regclean and everything, reinstalling in stages, ie sp1 sp2 etc and the beep did not return I decided to look at my local sound configuration. I should have known better because I have a creative labs 6.1 speaker system and I have problems with config all the time as the sound board utils only have options for 5.1 or 7.1. Anyway found that the centre channel was very very quiet, frigged around to get it working properly and the beeps have returned!

Thought I would let the community know!
