July 4, 201213 yr Im using the beta version of AS2012, now we all know there is problems with depiction sometimes especially regarding OVC conditions, I have been noticing that even though the green bar keeps poping up telling me the weather has been updated the weather does not really seem to change or be accurate to the station I'm near, flying into CYYZ it was supposed to be OVC at around FL 160 and scattered around 8000 with light rain according to the reports and my rc4 atis, yet it was pretty clear even though the green bar poped up, so I decided to manually refresh the weather and the results were the best I have ever seen in my life :) Total Solid OVC @ 16000 Still the solid OVC above but scattered at 8000, just like it should be. And landing still bang on. The weather is always most accurate at the beginning of a flight or after a manual refresh, so even though it says its updating, could something be happening within simconnect that is somehow preventing true depiction.?

Ian What weather mode were you using at the time, how often was the weather being downloaded and how far were you from CYYZ. I have started using the refresh button since reading your post and it definitely makes a difference in the weather at the destination but I believe it might be depicting the weather from the closest airport at the time I am clicking the refresh button as opposed to my destination. I was flying into KDFW this morning and refreshed at 17000 and 60 miles out. Once on the ground at KDFW I refreshed again and there was a slight change in the weather (clouds).
