July 7, 201213 yr 3 weeks to go, and I'm off on my Harley to Oshkosh. This year you can get a ride on FiFi (The last flying B-29), A B-17 (I forget the name), and of course the Tri-motor Fords. Its a whopping 500 (495.00) U.S. dollars for the B-17 ride ... Still... How many Non WWII participants can say they flew in a B-17?? I really don't have the money for the trip... but we only live once right? I'll hop on a Tri-Ford (so long as no one takes my picture.. no Chevy man should suffer the humility of it all)... But what I'm going for is a chance to sit in, and take pictures of, all those wonderful planes in my FSX hanger!! I'm hoping to see one of the Turbine Dukes there for sure.. and of course the Citation X, Mustang, King Airs, Legacy, Malibu, and my personal all time fav; TBM 850!! (Thank you Carenado!) On my return, I'll post vids and pics of one of the largest air shows in the world. (Also hoping for a raffle for a new plane, and lady luck rides up there with me for the occasion!)
July 7, 201213 yr Worth it for a ride in a Fortress. One day you might not be able to do that. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 7, 201213 yr Author Totally agree!! Alas, I only have the funds for a Tr-Ford ride (80 bucks). I'm 1,200 miles away from the show, so I'm using all my girl money on getting there. Hopefully, she'll be there next year. I only decided to go about a month ago... so I'm totally unprepared. I was lucky to get something to stay in, in Fond Du Lac (5 miles south of the field)... Most everything is booked already. Next year.. Oh hell yea... I'll be on both the 17 and 29 if they are there. funny thing is.. Despite the fact that most of the US is either on fire, or in temps over 100F, I'm worried it'll get cold before I go (bit of a hater of below 75F person). LOL. can't wait.
