FlightFX Cessna 750 (Citation X)--released
This is such an awesome plane. I have to say it was one of the very best bargains yet for MSFS. So easy to hand fly too. It's kind of ridiculous (in a good way).

Goodbye Old Friend.
Well, it's done. Today I fully uninstalled FSX. I've been on 2020 sense a few months after the release, but had the old girl on stand by. It was a significant investment, with addon's, mods, planes, livery's... the kitchen sink. The original box set with acceleration is even missing. I love 2020, it's what my FSX wanted to be. I am surprised at how terrible the ATC is in 2020, but that is a minor thing. My FSX was gigabytes and gigabytes of code. It sorta felt like loading everything from a passed loved one for the dumb. But it's done. I'm going to do what MSFS is kind of supposed to make you do, and that is go out and build an able computer. This time around, I have the cash to really build a monster, and I might even replace some tried and true controllers with more premium ones. I'm not going into the weeds with MSFS and it's various iterations this time around. I'm going to give it the best computer I can afford, add some planes and weather, and just fly it. Tweaking is allot of work, and I'm just not that into it like that anymore. Anyway, it's done. Goodbye old friend.

2016 NFL season flights: its Time!
1.) Pick a realistic GA Aircraft (Single Pilot Cert. Only) that can carry you and your family/friends to all the away games of your favorite team. 2.) Plan to arrive at least three hours before game time. 3.) Use only the plane you picked for first flight for all flights. 4.) Use real weather. Use real time (no slewing). Flight can be flown after the game with historic weather. 5.) IFR or VFR. If VFR, stick to all the VFR limits, including restricted air space rules, MOA's, etc. 6.) Post Pics and flight plan in the gallery after the flight. 7.) Airport should be as close to the stadium as possible. 8.) Return flight next day or after game. My first flight will be Washington Redskins vs. NY Giants, Sep 25th @ 1pm EST. Because the Mid Atlantic is such a cluster, most, if not all of my flights, will be IFR. I have a London game this year too, so that is a major trip. Not sure who I would drag along.. Consider who you would take, and the realistic probability that they would go.. this is not meant to be akin to a "Virgin Atlantic" comfort trip, but something you can own and operate. With that in mind, I have three planes in mind for me; Duke Turbine or TBM 850 (The Car). PC-12 (The Mini Van), or the KA-200/350 (The bus). First trip plan: 22,000 ft, IFR. Wheels up @ 8am. KHEF. CSN. LDN. MRB. EMI. PTW. SBJ. KTEB

This one is the one I use, very very good! (freeware, with a "Plus" version with a very small donation). Updates throughout the year for both versions. http://hawaii-photoreal.com/

Sun shining into cockpit and moving around as acft turns, etc
FSX in DX10 with a sun mod. There are a couple sun mods in the library. Inside shadows and sun flares only work in DX10. Look in the DX10 section here to catch up on that amazing aspect of FSX.

Starting Issues
There are two rocker covered switches on the upper panel. Flip them open and make sure the switches are UP. the cover will close automatically: then make sure the fuel valves are OPEN as well. Set your fuel mixtures to about HALF. Your start up will work now. here is a vid for the 520, but is the same for the 500 as well:

C196 Conversion...maybe
I have to say... I bought this and parked it, then found it again... Once you get pretty good at flying this plane, its allot of fun... still too slow.. but the prospect of a C196 conversion got me thinking... C196 is a 195 with a 450hp P&W Wasp Jr slapped on the front. A few where done by Falls City Flying Service at Standiford Field in Louisville for air survey work. They had tip tanks. I might play around with this, and upload a simple conversion you can copy paste. No graphix changes of course, but the .air and .cfg can easily be changed to Wasp specs.

over head panel
SHIFT L turns on all the lights.. The giant white rocker switch on the left has to be ON before any of the knob switches will work.

How to Activate Leg on FMS?
far left button on the FMS - (DIR key) - and use the right side LSK key next to the waypoint you want to go to.

Proline 21
Is there a way to load FSX flight plans.. I cant seem to find it. Some routes would take forever to hand type in.

Throttle & Engine Problem
I should add to OP... the real KA will roll @ flight idle. You need to use "beta" (the area between flight idle and reverse) to flatten out the props and slow .down/hold position. .

NFL Flt Plan Idea
!! I didn't even think about NASCAR! I love the follow sports idea.. if I could afford a plane of my own, this is exactly the kind of flights we'd be doing. Cheers!

C90 Sounds
Sound is a real problem, even for TSS (who appear to have stopped long ago with new sets). I've had to tweak every single sound set ever made for anything in FSX. I don't have this installed yet (i do have it), but this is a new aircraft...on sale... right now. I have seen people buy/request the king air sound insulation for interior upgrades/refinishing. The new kings are very quiet inside.

Throttle & Engine Problem
U need a Carenado Account with the old C90 listed as one of your past purchase. The discount is applied during purchase. Failures! Oh that is great to hear. The next step for developers... proper engine management... And what happens when you don't. "As Real As It Gets" is closer all the time.

NFL Flt Plan Idea
Hi All. Your missions: Flight plan to follow your favorite football team (US, NFL) on all their away games. I just finished the season in a C195 with three of my friends, using real weather (Historic) for the games. The Dallas trip was brutal without AP, but it is really rewarding to do it "old school", and leaving the GPS in the hanger. In fact, this is a coold idea no matter what sport it is. Buffalo Airways Grounded
Radial Engine aftermarket support is on par with classic muscle cars these days. There are plenty of NEW parts being made for these great engines, regardless of size and make (although, P&W is way way more supported). The DC3 can be taken to ZERO air frame time by company's like Basler. Naa.. it's got nothing to do with age... but how cheap and mismanaged BA is. Sadly.. That is a very old story indeed.

Single Pilot tube.. Even fully automated robo-planes will have two pilots until the end of the univers. The number of pilots has less to do with "complex" aircraft these days.. It's more about redundancey/saftey. You know... when the captain has the fish. There will always be two pilots for the same reason people love a Captain with grey hair... The perception of safety and experence > the actual requirment or need. Even if the worlds aviation authoritys alow single pilot tubes, all it would take is one tube company to advertise "We have two Pilots!"... and well.. that's the end of that sillyness. Single pilot cargo on the other hand... well that is probably gonna happen.- Future of Aviation
The TV show "Front Line" from PBS had a great show on piloting these days. It's available on line at PBS. If I was going to fly for a living, I would skip the bus with wings sector, and move to alaska. Cargo and Bush would most likely be a more satisfying flying carrer. Just about all future piloting jobs are moving down in income. You can't take this job thinking your going to make hugh money. The 1950's era flying ended in 1960, and those days will never happen again.. even though the "glamour" and "romance" of those days persist in the ethos.. - Future of Aviation
