  1. Look in FSX main folder, and then "HD Airport Graphics" folder, and run the uninstall... Everything gos back to original. I understand some may have some hard core principles, but I found the Zinertek HD Airports a V A S T improvement, and don't feel duped by the title in any way. AND, they came in here and explained the product, and now are offering another update. I can count on one hand that kind of customer service from others. Thank You Zinertek, your product and service is amazing.
  2. And thank you for the wonderful plane... it has made revisiting these scenery's a whole new experience! Some night/dusk flying with Piston taking the lead with big brother Turbine;
  3. hmmm.. I can do 100 bucks... If we can start a club with 9500 members, it'll be 100 bucks each, with a total of 26 minutes solo time each year.
  4. Ahhh HA! Ok... Well there you have it then! Thanks again for the hard, hard work!! What a great plane... Wish I could own the real thing, as I bet it's even a bigger blast to actually fly it. Ok, for everyone else with win 7: You can re cab these mods, and place them back into the FSX Gauges folder. This is a good thing as it is supposedly faster for FSX to access the cab file. There is also a FSX exclusive file type (SPB) that is even faster for FSX, but is allot more difficult to make. Follow along, it's easy!! FIRST, Hit the start button and type IEXPRESS into the search box. Double Click the name in the results to run it:
  5. Is this right? First after start up, second everything on:
  6. Ok, it cleared up a little, so off we go! The landing:
  7. Was going to go to Sedona today, but the weather is crappy.
  8. Thank you! Having done a few paints myself... oh brother do I know how you feel! I stopped talking to family, and moved into the basement for a month after I finished the Carenado T-prop Cutter Aviation repaint.
  9. I'm using REX ESS + OD with KW1 theme that i created. You can dload the theme from REX shared (inside REX ESS) by searching for KW1 or HAWKDS (theme ID 5112) This theme was used with SHADE K_and_W_1 preset created by Uhu_Fledermaus, which includes ENB settings (but I don't use ENB, im a DX10 user). If you have SHADE, you can get the preset from here: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/9776-shade-preset-k-and-w-1/ I also use the "Simple Sun Mod" available from the avsim library here:http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=182622 BlueSky Scenery. And finally, I use the Zinertek HD airports, which is now compatible with all three FSX programs (FSX/PD/SE) The proper install order is as follows: Instal REX textures, Install Shade preset, install Sun Mod. Install HD Aiport. Any other way, and REX will over write Shade/Airports, and mess up the sun mod. The download from Uhu Fledrmaus includes the REX theme, but the latest REX programs and updates no longer allow easy cut and paste for the theme, so I re-created it as a shared theme. Super easy install through shared! Day Three, we make it to Phoenix : KWDG-BGD-OTO-SJN-KGEU
  10. Yea that would be a major copyright violation! But you could explain the directory tree, and give a link to your software. Others may be interested in doing the same.
  11. They are excellent ideas.. please add them to the lib when you finish. I appreciate work like yours very much.. I know corporate logo's and public service paints are popular, but that makes em a work plane.. I prefer the hot rods! B)
  12. HD or not, I guess the best way to explain it is... Everything (in this package) is better then the stock versions. It works on the entire world. So a global facelift with no hit on FPS for 15 bucks. It's a good deal.
  13. Not a geologist, but man.. there was allot of volcanic activity in the west of the US back in the day.. If Super volcano Yellow Stone ever blows, we are screwed. HL, you sir win this thread! Days one and two going to the super bowl: Day 1 route Jan 24th @ 13 gmt - KHEF-LDN-EKN-HNN-FLM-ABB-HNB-KEVV Day Two : KEVV-FAM-MAP-SGF-OSW-PER-KWG
  14. Oh yea.. My home base. I know every rock and pot hole of that entire area. Incredible shots HL. !! I'm on day two of the superbowl flight.. pics soon. WOW!
  15. Major update from the original. Believe me folks, this is a really easy, and cheap, FSX/PD/SE update. I actually love the new tarmac, signs, and taxi ways... and I have REX.
  16. Excellent! I would change the top color (Peach?) to silver or brandy wine... not "red", but a deep, rich huge. Add silver flake layer, and copy that layer, flip it to negative image, and add it to the alpha channel. Now you have a "metallic" paint job. Its a great paint pilottj.. just throwing out some ideas for ya.
  17. I've been lucky enough sit in a real 350i, and I set my eye line in the sim to that level and distance (as I do for all my AC i've actually flown in)... Of course these things have to be taken with a grain of salt, as you are trying to fit something 4 feet wide on a 28 inches monitor... and thus the good folks at Microsoft had the good idea of Pop Ups. The real MFD is about half the size of my monitor for example. MilViz did way better then I though could be done actually, as I can read the PFD and MFD clearly, and without setting up cameras or zooms at all... with the exception of the engine gauges. I apologize, everyone, including me, is excited for the final release of the 350i, and I feel like the one jerk who can't get with the program (and throwing a monkey wrench in the gears). I'm just trying to be honest and say maybe what others have been thinking too. I'll shut my trap now.
  18. i greatly appreciate that, and I am sure others will too. It's only the most anticipated aircraft in FSX history after all!
  19. Got the trees, but they did have an impact on frames, so I un-installed them. here is a really really good tree set (and the one I use) V2.1, with no FPS hit for me: https://sites.google.com/site/aimecreations/freeware-fsx/treex
  20. I know, but that's only because everyone is still awestruck with this amazing plane.. even the "in development" models are better then most other finished AC.. but engine gauges absolutely need to be readable in some way. It's a very light touch on props the way its set up now, and after take off, it's not eazy to tell 1500 from 1600 rpms. The TRQ at least has a red line that I assume is a power setting marker of some kind... will wait for manuals to continue that line of though. I don't want to sound like I'm "complaining"... I just wanted to point out engine management will be difficult without a separate pop up for those. That's a great picture, but I would think 1680x1050 would be the rez a majority of people are using. You have to admit that the engine cluster is small compared to everything else.
  21. This will replace REX textures for Runways and taxiways. If you like those over the the Zen ones, just reinstall the rex ones. Zen works for the entire FSX world, but will have zero effect on payware airports, or freeware airports with custom buildings. Anything that uses standard FSX buildings and vehicles will get a remarkable upgrade with zero fps hit. Its a very cheap upgrade to your FSX world, and you absolutely will not regret it.
  22. I jumped in on day one of pre sales, but my biggest concern for the AC looks like a major oversight by MilViz, and most likely will kill it for most. Once you get down to the business of flying it, and stop ogling over it's amazing quality, you soon realize you can't read the engine gauge clusters. The MFD/PFD pop up will not help, as the engine gauge cluster is just as tiny, and you would have to resize it to the entire second monitors screen to get a clear view of TRQ/ ITT/ NG/ Prop readings. I run two 28 inch monitors @ 1920X1080, which I think would be a common set up for most (VC main, Pop up gauges second monitor), and there is no pop up for only the engine cluster. The PFD/MFD itself is very readable from pilots POV, but you would have to set up a camera view (EZA/TrackIR) to read the engine cluster, which is completely unpractical for operating the AC. You will try to stick with it, and like myself almost will it to be great.. but in the end, a detail like that will have it join the many others in the simmers hanger museum.
  23. Thought about going to the super bowl from base (KHEF)... It's about 7 hours using 1/24/15 @ 13Z. date/time.. you want to make a vacation out of something like that.. anyway, Upper winds last couple months have been horrible. IFR (IMC) or VFR below 18K would take forever. Without IFR, you'd be better off with a piston.
  24. And that will almost certainly be true forever, from real recordings. RealAir really worked this problem with the Tduke V2. Nothing beats real recorded sounds, but to do it right for a sound set, the motor would have to be recorded without the prop, and the prop would have to be recorded without the motor. With a fancy studio, the prop could be removed from the recording, and vice versa, but ya know... we are taking about a major investment for a 12 dollar sound set. <_<
