  1. Yea no amp, always 25 volts (IIRC). turning on and off stuff doesn't change anything.
  2. Left Salt Lake For Bilbo... long flight!! @ FL250.. 341 with some nice tail winds.. for a change
  3. I'll try these right now.. and as always... Thank you very much for your hard work.
  4. WOW HLJames!! I have some Blue sky in the area, and will have a look..
  5. I think that had more to do with him being a bad pilot. Some are more "natural" then others. PPL is not the end of training, and no one should sign off on one just because the required hours has passed either. Allot of links failed in that poor guys flight training, his check ride inspector, and his own common sense too. Sorry to hear that, truly.
  6. How about this one; L35 - KPSP - F70 - KCRQ - KSDM - KNUC - KAVX ... Fueling up now. On a side note.. I so want to live in San Diego.. OMG... 86 avg temp, 360 sunny days. Made it to Baker... Stunning Bluesky in this area. (I have all of the BluSky for Cali)
  7. Jim, I see your Mammoth, and raise you a Baker (o03) still got a hundred miles to go...
  8. My brother always thought that it was a good idea to train in the plane you were going to own right from the start (GA of course, commercial is a whole other thing). We've heard of a student who bought a Piper Meridian, and started his training in it right out of ground school. Of course you would have to start out in a single before going twin, but choosing T-prop as trainer is not too crazy of an idea.
  9. I had it and didn't like it that much... the trees are nice, but there is a hit on the high end trees (They have three levels of tree detail. I actually found "TreeX 2.1" to be just as good, and it's free!) http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/17864/fsx-treex-v21/
  10. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones... I have a big box, run in DX10, and never had CTD's, or OOM's under any circumstances whatsoever. I only bought this product because it effects the entire world. I would never throw money at any payware airport... For me personally, that seems ridiculous. The few airports I have are the ones our great community makes and shares. My mind set has been to simulate flight, not airports. I do save a dime for scenery and mesh. I donate to BlueSky, and even went so far as to buy some FSGenesis mesh. Airports are nice I guess... but your not supposed to be there long.
  11. On a whim, I thought 15 bucks wasn't a huge deal, so here is a quick KROC comp: HD. Check out the Vic's!
  12. I asked RA, and the pop up I made was the best/easiest way... BUT... it could be added to the Duke annunciatior panel. That would require added the ice gauge to the RASDuke.cab and using one of the blank spots for the warning. I may do that for myself, but explaining how to install that would prevent me from sharing that one. Sorry in advanced!
  13. Amen. About the hardest thing you have to do is delete all the FSX keyboard assignments for views... and there are allot. It's a little work, but I couldn't even contemplate FSX without EZDok, even if I didn't have TrackIR. People must also realize that TrackIR has a view limitation when it tracks your head movements. Just like the mouse, you can adjust the sensitivity so that movement is more then actual, and you will be able to see just about the entire cockpit. I Prefer 1:1 movement, and I set up cameras for close ups of stuff like switch panels. EZDok + TrackIR allow you to actually have a real simulator. EZDok 1.7 is not glitchie, broken, or inpacts FSX in anyway, as it run outside of the sim (and so does TrackIR). If it doesn't work for you, you did something wrong.
  14. Ahhh... I see the problem.. You have NO LANDING GEAR. You should have checked that before you bought it. Great shots.
  15. I uploaded a Pop Up version of the Ice gauge by Dutch727 (just now, so give it a chance to show) that will work in any FSX plane. Neat little gauge... and using it, I found out that all the de-icing equipment in the Duke really works! (not just another pretty button to flip) Here is you test flight. Jan 6th, @ 13 GMT, Airport KHEF. Real weather heavy snow and icing, major fog.
  16. Ok, just uploaded the Pop Up version to the library. Give it some time to show. The Pop Up version can be used in any aircraft, not just the duke. I've tested it with the duke, and it's a pretty cool little gauge. I place the pop up on my second monitor. If you only have one, you can resize it and move it out of the way. And by the way.. all the de-icing equipment on the duke is functional! Enjoy.
  17. I got the OK from Dutch to make a pop up.. working on it now. RA advised this idea, and I agree. I'll re-size the graphics, and upload it to the avsim lib. Stay tuned.
  18. KJAC RW19.TETON3.IDA PIH BYI KTWF ILS25 - I'll fly this tonight, thanks! I had to take a day off to do some RW car repairs.. If anyone ever tries to replace a radiator in a Chevy Cavalier (with AC), expect to speak in tongues for 5 hours, and suddenly hate puppies, kittens, and anything Disney for a few hours afterword.. It does, and my Doctor told me I should cut back. As Jim said, there is a some good base line how to's in the manual, but I offer the following; After start up, you should turn ON the "inertial separators" ("Ice doors" in the Duke language). Some manufactures will have you turn them on even on start up (KA B200 for example), They are just a flap inside the engine intake that alters the air flow in a way to keep the engines from sucking in debris. The most dependable aircraft engine in the world makes for a very poor vacuum cleaner. It's similar to "Alternate Air" in some pistons, and should be used kind of in the same way. I've seen pilots use it when flying in rain, but absolutely if your in sleet. Once everything is up and running, and you ready for take off- inertial separators ON (switch down/towards you) Fuel pumps ON (But I never do, but it's good practice) Lights. One notch of flaps (approach setting) Condition levers full forward Props Full forward Trim DOWN (pointer goes toward panel) about half way between the 0 and the next mark) Throttle up to 900-1000 TRQ (We don't want more then that, because Ins Seps will increase TRQ when turned off, and we don't want to over TRQ!) 90 kts, rotate, and lift off. Gear up At 120 kts, flaps up Fuel Pumps off Reduce Props to 2100 RPM inertial separators OFF... the plane will do a neat little wiggle, as you can only turn one off at a time. in RW, you would do these together, but we only have a mouse here. You should climb at 1800 fpm, which is allot, and such a rate would freak out people never in plane before.. we forget this stuff in a sim.. You can do way more in this plane, but unnecessary. During climb you will have to keep adding more throttle as you get higher, BUT... keep an eye on ITT.. don't go over 790. Adjust climb rate and power to stay at or bellow that. you want some slack before the red line. Level off, reduce TRQ to 900 Reduce props to 2000 RPM Re-adjust TRQ to 1000. That should keep you near the 200 kt red line. Double check ITT before doing so. DESEND - reduce TRQ to 500, and desend at 1500 fpm. as you get lower, you will have to reduce power. You may get as low as 200 TRQ, but that is OK. Don't overspeed. LANDING - TRQ 400 until you get to 170 kts, then add first flaps. Stay there until ready for final. FINAL - This gets busy.. practice makes perfect.. On final descent, reduce TRQ to 350, gear down. inertial separators ON, INCREASE power to 300 TRQ (you will lose power with the IS on) At 120 kts, Full flaps. Condition (NOT POWER) levers to FLIGHT IDLE. Props FULL FORWARD. Fuel Pumps on Now there are two schools of thought here on turbines... 1.) Over the fence, power to flight idle, and touch down like your pretty. 2.) 50 feet, and assured touch down, power to flight idle like your a pro. Enjoy.
  19. I know disappointment is a strong emotion... But that has to be one of the most bizarre statements I've ever seen on the internet. I say that with all due respect, and mean no spite, but that seemed rather harsh!
  20. I played with it last night to no avail... I sent off an email asking for the coordinates left of the IAS, and in line with the 200 mark. I think that would be a sweet spot, as we all have that area in view most of the time.
  21. Looking forward to this, and thanks again for the hard work... it is greatly appreciated!
  22. In this vid, you can see the water spouts of that... well whatever the hotels name is. And the pirate ships, and a fireworks display. Its a busy place at night.
