2500k/2600k vs 3930K for FSX

Featured Replies

According to the evidence, the 3930K is an excellent system, but it is much hotter and costlier to purchase and run, without deriving FSX benefits over the 2500K, 2600K and 2700K proven performers, Ghz for Ghz. Why not prove otherwise if possible? That would be great!

Combined with an SSD the 3930K should offer a lot faster loadtimes and faster texture loading than s1155 SandyBridge.

I would love to see s2011 results in FSXmark11. We have too little detailed knowledge of how it compares to regular SB.

you asked?

settings :

all sliders maxed out

Do you use Sparse Grid Supersampling?

I can see that you have GTX680 in SLI. Nice setup for gaming. Would you mind trying Darios GPU benchmark? There is no need for any reinstall. It would be nice to see if SLI is useful there.

I have a question? If you are loading all textures at 100% @, say, 26 fps on 2700 CPU then load textures faster on 3930k at 26 fpc clock for clock, then what would be the result?

The differences are minimal. The FPS are the same. Socket 2011 is a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

Delidded IB + 2600MHZ RAM + Kepler is the way to go right now...

I just purchased the same chip and was wondering if you would care to share your CPU OC settings? ;-S
