Hi guys,

 

I'm getting an error while installing the NGX 600/700 expansion: Unable to locate fsx.exe. Unable to Install.

 

It looks like a registry problem, but unfortunately I know very little about fixing the registry.

 

I've submitted a support ticket, but I thought I'd try to find a solution here while I wait for a response.

 

Specs: Windows Vista 64 bit, FSX SP2 (no Acceleration), i7 940 and dual GTX 280s

Hi i take it you already have the pmdg 737-800 pack installed already. or you can try the fs registy repair option which is a free download

Yes, I've got the 800/900 installed. I ran the Flight 1 registry tool as Administrator but without any luck. Also I ran a livery installer for the PMDG 747-400F and it found the target folders without any problems.

 

There's something wrong here but it's pretty subtle.

glad you got it fixed just for interest what were the window services for the next person that has the same problem?

Ah! I'm usually a bit peevish about Windows pestering me to update all the time - so I often ignore the update requests. In this case it was the Vista SP2 update I was ignoring which turned out ot be crucial to the 600/700 installation. There were also some other minor updates which may have been important.

 

Ryan's advice to me was to update everything on the list.
