June 6, 200422 yr Commercial Member ... especially anything from this list: Hawker Hurricane Mk IIASupermarine Spitfire LF Mk XVINorth American P51D MustangNorth American Mk III Harvard... which are the aircraft of the NZ Fight Pilots Museum (www.nzfpm.co.nz)Not just a CFS port, but with a great 3D cockpit, nice shiny textures etc. Payware is ok. I know there's not much hope of finding the museum's Polikarpovs, but is anyone know of one in production?Visit the Windowlight forum on Avsim... everything you need to know about New Zealand flightsim sceneryhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...forum=203&page=
June 6, 200422 yr Real air have a spitfire coming soon. Based on the past releases from Real Air, it should be top notch. They say sometime this summer.
June 6, 200422 yr You might also want to check out the Yak-3 by Captain Sim:http://www.captainsim.com/yak3/I don't personally have it but it looks nice.
June 6, 200422 yr The Reno Air Racing package has some very nice p51s. It was designed for fs2002, but works fine in fs2004. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
June 6, 200422 yr Howdy,I would recommend going to www.aeroplaneheaven.com and getting the 'Battle of Britain Mega Pack' pack for CFS2 and FS2002. I really doubt you'd regret buying the pack. Obviously these were orginially made for FS2002, but they work fine in FS2004 and have great 2D panels and 3D VC's. You'll get the Spitfire and Hurricane. If you go to buy the pack you'll see that it says that the pack is FS2004 compatible.I should note that the pack has been updated for CFS3 and they say they are currently updating it for FS2004. But again, the FS2002 package works fine in FS2004 and they are high quality Flight Simulator aircrafts. Also, they lowered the price of the FS2002 package and it's pretty inexpensive now, $17.95.Contains:Spitfire Mk1A ( 2 skins)Hurricane Mk1 2-Blade PropHurricane Mk1 3-blade Prop (2 skins)Hurricane Mk2C Cannons (Last of Many)Messerschmitt Me109e (Galland skin)Regards,Jim
June 6, 200422 yr Check out the Sim-Outhouse site. Between the D/L section and the very useful forums, ya should find more than enough stuff to excite ya. ;)http://www.sim-outhouse.com/-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
June 7, 200421 yr Commercial Member Thanks, Jim. I have looked at these before, I admit that the only thing which holds me back is the complete lack of images on the site. Only a couple of the aircraft seem to have screenshots. The BoB pack is cheap, though, so I may take a chance.
June 7, 200421 yr Commercial Member Thanks to you all -- Ok, there's obviously enough out there to get me started :)I'm shortly releasing a new Wanaka scenery, home of the Fighter Pilots Museum and Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow, and I'd like to recommend the best aircraft to go with it. In the short term I'm putting together a Wanaka video, but the lack of a 3D cockpit in any of my warbirds was a real problem. Now I can get started. Keep watching my forum below for details...Still looking for info on the Polikarpovs, these were my favourites at the airshow -- if someone could even point me at some resources I could make my own!Visit the Windowlight forum on Avsim... everything you need to know about New Zealand flightsim sceneryhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...forum=203&page=
June 7, 200421 yr Greetings. When you say really, really nice, nothing compares to Captain Sim's Yak. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out. P40_V2.zip over at Simviation is for CFS2, but works very nicely in FS9. The externals are gorgeous, though the VC is average.Alphasim has a nice Spitfire and I also recommend their P47 and JU87 packages.I concur that the Battle of Britain pack from Aeroplane Heaven is a good deal, but the only plane I fly from it is the ME109.stp51d.zip is a lovely P-51D by Shigeru Tanaka.
