July 31, 201213 yr Gents, Quick question - If an airport, say Aerosoft Amsterdam or Madrid for example, is supplied with multiple afcad files that should be selected in advance of flight according to wind direction, how can one be sure of selecting the correct one bearing in mind weather changes once you are en-route? Is there a way of fixing destination wx so as to ensure correct afcad selection? I use radar contact and ASE. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't see anything immediately from a search. Thanks Oli
July 31, 201213 yr Hi Oli, I use multiple AFCADs for EHAM. I look at the ASE weather for EHAM and then install the matching AFCAD in order to have traffic use the right runways and taxiways. This is when EHAM is my departure airport. When flying into EHAM I do the same, but indeed winds may change while on the way. Well should that be the case, I take my loss. I land at the correct runway but I might upset ai...... Menno Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5
August 1, 201213 yr Commercial Member I have never used those multiple AFCAD setups myself, they just seem too much of a hassle. I just use the Force ATC Windlock function and let FSX handle which runways are in use based on the wx. The only time I run across a few screwups with the traffic is if my traaic settings are way to high. I generally run them at around 60-75% unless Im in the Northeast US areas or other hi dens locations. For example the Sunsky KPHL comes with two different AFCADS based on the wx. I just turned all the traffic back on on all the runways and take what I get. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
