  1. Might be wrong, but isn't it where the information concerning AES is stored?
  2. Just a quick message to say thank you to everyone for their help. Using the CTD guide that Jim pointed me towards, I identified an fe.dll error which pointed me towards my ai traffic file. Using a combination of ACA and AI Texture Checker inidentified several bae146 aircraft that were missing a lightmap. Once these were added FS9 and I was able to start a flight. Not sure why this should have suddenly become an issue, however, this sim continues to surprise!!!! (Good and bad)
  3. No matter what aircraft - the bar gets to 100%, the scenery and panel shows for a split second and then ctd. Have also tried disabling ai - same result - ctd. Have also checked my ai textures with texture checker Will check the event viewer - am away for the weekend at the moment. Also will have a look through the avsim ctd guide Jim - when I click the link below I get an oops not found message? http://forum.avsim.net/files/file/65-avsim-crash-to-desktop-guide-for-fsx-p3d-fs9/
  4. Hi Everyone, I know that we are a dwindling number of fs2004 users, but I hope that someone can help me out with a ctd problem which has recently started occuring. I get a CTD when loading a flight. The progress bar gets to 100%, the scenery and sound loads for a fraction of a second, and then black screen and the message that fs9 has stopped working. This does not happen everytime I try and begin a flight - around 80% of the time. I have not made any recent additions to FS, other than to update my Navigraph databases to the most current versions. It happens at any location, with any aircraft, including default. I have recently updated my graphics driver, but FS has worked subsequently to this. I do use NVIDIA inspector set up according to the well-known NickN settings. Hoping that someone has experienced something similar (and solved the problem!) Thanks in advance
  5. Just a thought - are you installing as administrator?
  6. I recently had ctd problems with this product and found that following the steps below cured my issue:- http://www.wilcopub.com/airbusseriesv1_support_uk If you experience strange behavior or CTD (crash to desktop) Delete the "fmgc.cfg" file located in the \FeelThere\Airbus\Fmgc\A320 directory. Another one will be created automatically at your next flight. Removing this file is especially important if you have updated the navigation database with a different AIRAC cycle.
  7. There's life in the old dog yet it would seem. Now all we need to do is get FS2Crew on board - ifly737+FS2Crew is one of my favourite combinations!
  8. Perhaps a stupid answer to your question but:- 1. Have you calibrated the joystick? 2. Have you got auto rudder enabled? (Assuming of course you do not have rudder pedals) Hopefully this might help
  9. Hope I'm not breaking any of the rules by posting the link below, however NLS are running a poll to see if they should make their A380 for FS9. You can find it via AirdailyX http://www.airdailyx.net/fsnewsbreaker/ Surely worth a vote even if there's the slimmest chance it's ever produced!
  10. Hi Johan, Where did you get to with this package? I would be very happy to help test what I am sure is/would be a great addition to FS2004's world
  11. I hope this isn't thread hijack but...I have played around with these enb files in the past but become frustrated that when you change views you have to re-activate it by pressing f11 (if I remember correctly) Is there a way to permanently activate the effect?
  12. There are some great Vietnamese sceneries around too for a short hop. From memory I think they're by a group called Thaiflight. There was also a scenery released by a different group of DaNang. If only they were AES supported - actually I might check if they've been requested over on the aerosoft forums.
  13. Im interested in this - are you saying that raising water quality comes at a tradeoff with terrain detail?
  14. Another thing to consider is that FS2Crew is available for the Ifly but probably won't be for the QW. FS2Crew in my opinion adds another layer of realism to my flights with the ifly which I love
  15. I decided to follow Ron's advice, but so as not to make too many changes at one time I began with downloading a new version of AISmooth. Upon reading the manual I noticed that the authors advice was to start the program before anything else. Before now I had alway started it once positioned at the gate during pre-flight. I tested it out by flying between Glasgow and Gatwick, and low and behold there was traffic waiting for me to land at the hold short for 26L. I'm planning on doing the same flight this evening, at a different time of day, too see if it was just chance, but I wonder whether the fact I had been starting AISmooth after FS9 might have been having some affect on the formers ability to control traffic flow. I will report back.
  16. I have never had airports with no ai at all. Not sure what might be causing that, My problem is that ai traffic movements on the ground seem to be paused when I am in the vicinity of the airport and only restart once I have taxied away from the active. If you find a solution, please reply on here though. Good luck! Thank you Ron! I will try these out when I am at home tonight (UK time) and report back here...
  17. Thanks Craig - I thought that could be the case however I have tried at times throughout the day from early morning to late at night. Also the problem is not distinct to Gatwick - I just thought that I'd use Gatwick as a test bed knowing how busy it is.
  18. Title of this post might be slightly misleading however I have been doing a lot of flying in and out of Gatwick (EGKK) which was once (not sure if it still is) the busiest single runway airport in the world. Something occurred to me: not once on final, arriving at various periods of the day, has there been ai queuing at the hold short point to take off once I have landed. This struck me as odd. I fly using Radar Contact and AI Smooth, along with Active Sky. AI moves normally when I am taking off, and a little while after I have landed. My question is this – is AI Smooth, or Radar Contact preventing movement on the ground whilst I am on the approach? Is there anyway to lessen the effect of this if so? Or is something else affecting ai departures? I'd love to see a queue of departing AI when I am landing. I am sure someone out there must have an idea? Thanks in advance
  19. Gents, Quick question - If an airport, say Aerosoft Amsterdam or Madrid for example, is supplied with multiple afcad files that should be selected in advance of flight according to wind direction, how can one be sure of selecting the correct one bearing in mind weather changes once you are en-route? Is there a way of fixing destination wx so as to ensure correct afcad selection? I use radar contact and ASE. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't see anything immediately from a search. Thanks Oli
  20. No problem Bryan. The work that you put into your addons is very much evident!!ThanksOliver
  21. Aw that's a real shame - don't suppose there's any possibility of it being added is there?Incidentally, is there a list of addon aircraft for which you are planning to create versions for online?ThanksOliver
  22. Hi Bryan,I'm a user of fs2crew button edition for the pmdg 747 and ifly737 and love the amount of realism and depth that they add to a flight.Just noted that the Qualitywings BAe 146/Avro RJ is provisionally slated for release towards the end of this month (February) and wondered whether you had any plans to develop a version of fs2crew for it?ThanksOliver
  23. I don't think so - not at first at least. I have absolutely no experience of overclocking so it would be a bit tricky I think!Thank you very much for your help
  24. It will be used for video editing, some CAD work in addition to flightsimming and other traditional family uses. When you say fs9 only uses a single thread do you mean that performance would suffer on this system? Thanks
