Airbus deluxe evolution with upgrade crash

Featured Replies

Have had the Wilco/Feelthere Airbus deluxe evo. package on my hard-drive for a long time. I did not bother with it as I could never find a way to get my GoFlight TQ6 unit to work with it. Read the info for the upgrade for this package recentely and it referenced that changes had been made to make it compatible with more throttle units. So...I thought I would give the upgrade a go as I would really like an Airbus in my sim (something a little more up to date than the trusty PSS bus). Installed per the devs directives, and upon selecting one of the 319 crafts, the sim crashed upon loading.  After several re-installs and a lot frustration I have managed to get it to work about 15% of the time. I was however able to get the TQ6 unit to work with it. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, once in awhile it works, most times it just crashes FS9.Did quite a bit of searching to try and remedy this crashing problem but so far none of the potential solutions has worked. If anyone has any ideas or experience with this please share. Would REALLY like to get this bird working. Thanks in advance.

I have found that loading another aircraft first and then loading the Wilco works for me.  It is a pain, but that is my solution.

Ok. I will try that. Wilco has offered zero help with this. Have contacted them twice. Nothin like service after the sale. Guess I should have known better.

Set up the default flight with a parked default B737 or so and clear weather theme. This initializes the FS engine running in the background when FS is loaded with menus up. This is the same as loading another flight before the aircraft of your choice is actually loaded from your menu.

I recently had ctd problems with this product and found that following the steps below cured my issue:-

If you experience strange behavior or CTD (crash to desktop)
Delete the "fmgc.cfg" file located in the \FeelThere\Airbus\Fmgc\A320 directory.
Another one will be created automatically at your next flight.
Removing this file is especially important if you have updated the navigation database with a different AIRAC cycle.

Oli441,

Thanks for pointing that out. Have read thru that and tried it. Does not seem to offer much relief for this issue. What I found that completely cures it is to remove the update. No issues after that. Just bugs me that I paid for something I can't use.

Just a thought - are you installing as administrator?

  • Author

Yes installed with full admin rights. There seems to be some sort of issue with this update and Win 7 64 bit operating systems. Wilco says they won't offer support for FS9 customers that are running win 7 64 bit (found that little nugget AFTER I had bought the update). I suggested that if they are not going to support something, maybe they aught not to sell it. Just a thought.
