September 20, 201213 yr The second version of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (VTBS) scenery has just been released: http://secure.simmarket.com/armi-project-vtbs-suvarnabhumi-intl-fs2004.phtml Tic (Jirayu Tanabodee), whom we know from many other great Asian projects, took over the design. The best info is: it is free for all owners of the first version!
September 20, 201213 yr Just downloading it now Rafal, literally stumbling over it on my frequent visits to SimMarket. Can't believe its a free upgrade all things considered. Hope it is AES friendly. Pity Don Muang is apparently incompatible.
September 20, 201213 yr Worth getting guys? Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
September 20, 201213 yr I am downloading it as I write this. One of the amazing things about Thailand and FS is the incredible number of outstanding sceneries that are available - many of them freeware that are payware quality. Add to that some of the most spectacular AI paint schemes (particularly NOK Air!) and it really is worth looking to add this area to your "most visited" FS regions. Look for: VTCC Chiang Mai VTPH VTBD 2011 Phuket 2010 (VTSP) All of them are in the top tier of FS9 airport addons IMO. Thanks for the "heads up" Rafal - as always!!!! Cheers Ian
September 20, 201213 yr It is outstanding - a beautiful scenery, excellent FPS and already has AES support. GO FOR IT!!! Add all the available freeware airports I listed above, get yourself some Thai Airways or Bangkok Air or NOK Air paint schemes for your favorite aircraft and go and enjoy some FS flying that is as good as it gets. But a word of advice from someone who has spent some wonderful times in Thailand - avoid the local hooch known as "Mekong Whiskey" unless you want the worst hangover of your life! (Though you will probably enjoy what little you can remember of the night before! What you've heard about the night life there is absolutely true!!! Been there, done that!) LOL Ian

LOL Ian Good enough advice for me. I'm more of a Chang man myself though. But it did lead to the creation of a new verb 'to get Changed' ;-) But one question before I buy, how will I be able to get AI to fly there? Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
September 20, 201213 yr There are some great Vietnamese sceneries around too for a short hop. From memory I think they're by a group called Thaiflight. There was also a scenery released by a different group of DaNang. If only they were AES supported - actually I might check if they've been requested over on the aerosoft forums.

Almost all of the newer WoAI packages have VTBS instead of VTBD so you will have tons of traffic. The scenery itself adds VTBS so even though it's not in the default FS9, it will be once you install the product. Though VTBD was originally closed after VTBS opened, it was later renovated and reopened and several airlines as well as RThAF continue to use it so you will have traffic at both airports and if you install the freeware VTBD 2010 you will have two outstanding airports for Bangkok. I believe the new Danang scenery is AES supported now - check the new list on the Aerosoft site and you will find quite a few in the region that are supported...

September 21, 201213 yr It's only incompatible with earlier versions of VTBD - VTBD 2011 is a brand new product and they are compatible.

September 21, 201213 yr Author Waleed, I believe Ian (see post#6) much more than 'airdailyxblogspot' which frankly I have no interest in. What is more, Tic is a very nice guy who offered a lot of top quality Asian stuff to simmers at no cost. So I have a lot of confidence should there be any problems, he will quickly fix them. Plus, you know, not perfectly genuine for... 0 money will always be fine for me!

September 21, 201213 yr Rafal, not quite as genuine as it seems I am afraid: http://airdailyx.blo...ple-things.html The writer on this web site has zero credibility. He can't even spell. This site would be a good example for me to use for my university students to demonstrate how they need to develop a critical sense in evaluating information gained from the web. I'm with Rafal on this one - but then, I always am! LOL
