GTX 670 (Surround) + 4th Monitor?

Featured Replies

OK.. I connected three 24" monitors to the DVI-D, DP, HDMI and got surround (1 widescreen view). I then connected the 4th 19" monitor to the DVI-D

When I configure surround, It does not recognize the 4th monitor. IF I activiate the 4th monitor, it breaks the surround view.

I can see all 4 monitors individually. But not (3 monitor surround for fsx) + the 4th monitor (for web browsing)

I thought that was how it was supposed to work.

Is that not how its supposed to work?

Any ideas?

Manny

Here at nvidia site, it says its possible

http://www.geforce.c...680-surround/#1

"The GeForce GTX 680 sports two DVI connectors, one HDMI connector, and one DisplayPort connector. In 2D Surround, gamers can use any of the four display connectors to power their Surround setup, and the fourth display connector for the Accessory Display

But I am not able to.

Yes, it's just meant to work like that.

With NV Surround turned off can you see the four monitors in the NV "Set up multiple displays" page.

If so drag the monitors around to position them as they should be.

Go back to the NV "Configure Surround" page and configure the three Dells.

Go back to the NV "Set up multiple displays" page and see if you have the surround and accessory monitor shown.

Great.

Does the forth monitor impact on FSX frame rates at all?

I don't believe so.

The only thing is, when I am on full frame I can't use the 4th monitor..it goes black.

In the beginning I thought I had the 4th monitor even with the other three on full frame.. So I am kind of confused... I was not able to repeat that later on. So now I am using FSX in windoes mode + the 4th

That forth monitor should be available for other stuff with FSX in fullscreen.

I am waiting on a display port adaptor to try out a forth monitor on my rig.

I will let you know if I have the same problem.

I am pretty certain I had that working like that.. But right now.. when I start FSX, it goes into fill fram and the 4th monitor us unusable. I suspect I broke something.

Yes it does not seem to work as advertised with FSX in Full Screen.

But the forth screen is not useless.

Creat a new view and drag it to the forth monitor. You now have a four monitor FSX set up.

I guess this will make a some people happy but disappoint others.
