June 20, 200421 yr >If you look on the left hand side panel (below the left>window) all will be revealed.>>Magnetos, Attitude Indicator switch, Turn indicator switch,>windscreen wiper switch (yes, they work) together with other>switches and controls.>>I find that the default Lockheed Vega sounds work well for>this model. YES-- this is true. I couldn't get the Attitude indicator to work -- but noticed in the associated XML gauge file that it depended on an AI Attitude Indicator switch -- went looking for it and found it. Works great -- my first a/c with a working windscreen wiper as well. And FPS are great! This has to be one of the undiscovered gems of the AVSIM library -- only a 10 meg download and the a/c is quite complex. Now -- what I REALLY would like for this fine a/c is a manual to tell me what all the switches do. Ther are just so many switches in the VC - but no labelling to say what they are for. And I do suspect that they all work and do something.Barry

June 20, 200421 yr Just to let you all know, I found out what the "moveable wings" on either side of the nose are.Apparently they are the pitot tubes, and they move to keep the pitot level at high angles of attack, I would have never guessed that!!!Dan.
June 21, 200421 yr >Why are the colors on this plane's attitude indicator reversed>(brown above, blue below), Can't answer that one >and why does it not move as the>attitude changes? It does - you just haven't turned on its switch> And where's the heading indicator or even a>compass?heading indicator is right in front of you in the form of a gyro -- you have to turn that on as well to make it work . A compass is on the right hand side of the cockpit panel>>I also would like to express my kudos to the creators, though.> It's quite a nice job for freeware.Absolutely!!!Barry
June 21, 200421 yr LOL I just tried the plane out and its really a funny thing! I must say that I saw An-14 first time, never heard about such bee before. I managed to land with it nicely to the parking position on apron lol.
June 21, 200421 yr I believe Russian plane have a little different setup on their ADI's. The colors are different and in some cases, the colored sphere doesn't move but an artifical plane around it does. Definetly takes some getting used.

Definetly takes some getting used.It definitely does move -- but the associated switch on the left panel must be turned on first. The same thing goes for the Radio Alt gauge -- it must be turned on first by the switch on the front panel -- which is behind the yoke , you have to bend down to get to it! :)Barry

I have found it referred to as the AN-14 CLOD.Barry
June 21, 200421 yr CLOD is the NATO code name, C for Cargo, I would imagine that the "little bee" is the affectionate name given to it by the russians ;)CheersDan.
