August 19, 201213 yr Hi, My MD-11's been running with the same error for well over a year; It used to cause a CTD after I'd been flying it for a few minutes. I can't believe it, but I found a fix! You might want to take note of this somewhere if this error happens to you. So right click on the FSX icon, on your desktop or wherever it is, and select "Run As Administrator". Now normally load the MD-11 at an airport of your choice. Those of you who are familiar with the MD-11 will know that it's highly automated, yes? And that you have to initialize a few pages of the FMC before you can go flying? Here's the sequence of pages that work. Start off by clicking on "F-PLAN INIT" and filling out the destination and arrival airport ICAO (Ask me below if you don't know what I'm talking about). Also, fill out the cruise altitude. That's it for this page. No go to "TO/APPR". Fillout the "SLOPE WIND", "OAT", "FLAP" and confirm the V-speed. Also, set the flaps to the value that you set in the FMC, and Trim the elevators to the value specified, also in the "TO/APPR" page. At this stage, don't select the Cost Index, SID or STAR. I'll see if these things work later. Now you can go flying! Thanks, Kevin L
August 19, 201213 yr Hi Kevin, I don't know what you are doing to get a CTD. If I folllow the correct procedures as stated in the FMS manual (or as explained in the tutorial) I don't get a CTD. Also if I enter all data randomly on all diffrent pages (which isn't a good idea) I don't get a CTD. The only thing I noticed is, if you enter all data on the TO page before you entered the TOCG in the Weight INIT page you aren't able to clear the "SET V SPEEDS" message, however that isn't a problem at all, and is probably the way the real FMC works (unfortunatly I don't know, and if Lufthansa Cargo sells all it's MD-11s I won't ever know :( ) John Rubens
