Switches to Start Turboprops in FSX

Featured Replies

I know FSX does not have appropriate variables and event codes to allow for realistic start-up of turboprops, but can anyone help with XML coding that will offer a reasonable alternative to Autostart to "realistically" start 2 turboprop engines.

Specifically I am setting up a 2D panel for the Basler BT67 turbo, and while I have been able to either copy some gauges from the VC, or make new ones to match the VC, however, the engine start switches elude me. I would really like 2 switches for each engine, a 3 position ignitor (off, start and continuous) and an off/on starter. This would mimic what is in the VC. The VC coding is, of course, not available.

I have spent weeks trolling around the web looking for gauges, downloading freeware turboprop aircraft looking for appropriate gauge coding, all to no avail. They all seem to use the autostart function, which in this case will start both engines from a single switch. The autostart function would be OK for a single engine.

Actually, the XML script for the engine start switch(es) is available, just not in an easily read format. You can open the interior .mdl file in a hex-editor and read it (providing you can find it!)...
