Problem Selecting STAR

Featured Replies

Good Day Folks, recently I've some troubles in modify the selected STAR from my FMC in the 737 NGX. When I try to insert/delete/changing a Waypoint the FMC doesn't allow me. Also if i try to change the STAR from the DEP/ARR page, it seems blocked, frozen. The other pages in the FMC worked perfectly.

The Only way to change the star is to cancel FMC insert data from the RTE Page: with this operation, the FMC will reset route and legs, allowing me to change the star.

Any Solution?

Best Regards

Ciao Stefano!

A couple of points.

First of all as a rule I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to modify a STAR unless instructed to do so by ATC (e.g. by flying a direct-to (if I'm mistaken please somebody correct me). Secondly you nevertheless SHOULD be able to do so in the legs page. Can you be a bit more specific in what are you trying to do and how you're trying to do it?

Cheers!

Hi Matteo,

I think you're correct in that ATC will expect pilots to fly an assigned STAR as published unless they issue specific instructions otherwise. Problem is that the procedures published by Navigraph do contain the odd error (as I've noticed myself during the years I've been purchasing them). In fact, NGX tutorial #1 pages 0.00.30 to -.00.34 deal with just that situation. It is therefore important to be able to edit procedure legs. Hopefully someone on the forum can provide a solution to Stefano's problem. Otherwise a support ticket may be needed.

Cheers,
Emile Bax.
