June 20, 200421 yr Over at Raytheonaircraft.com...http://raytheonaircraft.com/beechcraft/kin...c_Perf_2003.pdf...the B350 performance specs say that for a high-speed cruise, the B350 will get 312 knots at FL240 burning 773 pph.Well, earlier tonight I flew a flight (FS2002) from KAJR to KPNS, at FL240. At 74% TQ, 86% NG, I was burning 760 pph, at 166 KIAS, but my TAS was only 237 knots. That fuel burn is pretty close, but the airspeed is way off.Anyone with more knowledge than me want to shine some light on that? Is it really possible to get 312 knots? At higher altitudes, with a tailwind, I can sometimes get a GS of 290 or so, but that's still not 312.
June 20, 200421 yr I checked that site. So, are you saying that removing some "cargo" or "passengers" will let me cruise 80 knots faster? I know less weight means more speed, but 80 knots?
June 20, 200421 yr No, I had to tweak the engines. Weight only affects inertia..how fast accelerate or slow down.
June 20, 200421 yr >No, I had to tweak the engines. Weight only affects>inertia..how fast accelerate or slow down. No, decreased weight also means decreased induced drag as a result of the need for less lift and the resultant lower AoA. But not 80 knots worth...Probably not realistic to expect any MSFS stock FDE to perform anywhere close to r/w numbers.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
June 20, 200421 yr Lizardo,I noticed that the post person was using FS2K2.In FSCOF 9 do the king air engines need to be tweaked? If so is there any risk a screwing up the defualt plane as I am not the best to be messing around in the files. I can do the basics like adding a texture in the cfg file ect....Thanks.Mark.
June 20, 200421 yr It's the same plane. The tweaked CFG will probably work in 2k2, but if not just take out the extra things that CoF adds..such as brakes. When in doubt, save your original CFG file (I usually make a new folder, label it "orig CFG"..and put the original one there, in the aircraft file.)
June 20, 200421 yr Thanks,I may have confussed the two sims. I have FSCOF 9. With that said for some reason I am now confussed. I want to apply the twek you mentioned into fscof 9 King Air 350 so that it is more real like. The twek you mentioned above I will need to go and find. Are there any other add ons to help make the King Air 350 fly more like the real thing? Also, since we have established that FSCOF 9, is the version I am using, are there any tips for intalling the fix's.I appreciate the help.Thank you.Mark.
June 20, 200421 yr Hey, why not post your concerns on the Aeroworx forum? That Henning chap is very helpful. He will probably send you a modified airfile. There is at least one thread over there concerning airfiles. This post is meant to be helpful only.Cheers, ________________________________ Ken B. June 20, 200421 yr There are other tweaks by other people, all different. Mine, you simply replace the default CFG file with "this" one. (it changes more than just the engines).
June 20, 200421 yr I was hoping to fix it the that Lizrado was explianing.By the way what is Aeroworx. Who is Henning Chap. I will c`heck it out but would like to know a little about it before I start messing with airfiles. I had a real bad deal in fs2k2, when a airfile resulted in a complete re-install. I must add the file came from another site. That said, I realize that this site is in a different leauge and for the most part all advise can be trusted. Thus I I am going to sound stupid, but I am not familure with Aeroworx. Also, what exactly sould I ask for, or just explian it like it was durring this thread.I appreciate the info.Mark.
June 20, 200421 yr I hope I am not wearing out my welcome. Whatever the reason I am confussed with which file to D/L as to make try and make the Defualt Jing Air 350 fly mote like the real deal.Agian I have read more than I should have, thus "is it the forest or the trees", LOL.Please if someone could help me to shore, I feel like a raft off the Carolinia cost with no paddle.Any how, if I am extra cuatious its due to a bad mistake I made in FS2k2, thus I hope you guys (ladies also) understand the hesitation, and the double checks here. Thanks agian for the help.I hope all have a safe and productive week.Mark.
June 21, 200421 yr #1. Thanks for your attention to the topic and the help.#2. I am sorry to ask.#3. The bad, ( which means I am looking like an _____, LOL) Due to the fact I do not know where to input "350.zip" I am sorry to ask, however I want to do things the correct way the first time. Agian, I realize this is frustrating to you and or the others; please understand I am trying to not repeat a bad mistake I made in FS2K2. I really do appreciate you time and help. I am aware time is "bucks" and or personal time to your family and or your self. Take care and I want to say thanks.Mark.
