Can anyone point in the right direction, I want to convert

N39° 50' 20.84",W124° 30' 48.78"

to its decimal value to enter into FS Commander and Plan-G software.

Thanks

Bill

How do I know when to add the negative sign, as the site only returns positive numbers.

Thanks

the site only returns positive numbers.

The rest is done with the geographic direction. Lat N/S, Lon E/W. The site just returns the numbers itself. Maybe this helps with the +/- setup.

I enter 41 12 36.61 (N) 123 6 37.76 (w)

Result is 41.210169 123.110489

So the question is, Is W and S always negative?

Sorry, I did not see your map. That helps.

Thanks

Bill

I've edited my post.

Yes. Think of the Cartesian coordinate system if it helps.
