September 11, 201213 yr Hi I have a really annoying problem, The first time i load the flight everything goes fine, but then later during the flight (it might be after 5 minutes or it might be after 2 hours...) When FS needs to load again... Then the loading freezes when "traffic is being loaded"... it doesnt CTD, but just freezes... My guess is that I might have two AI traffic-thingys installed... maybe I have two colliding ai-packages or something? anyway I can see if this is the case? and if so... anyway I can remove one?:-) Niklas Eriksson
September 11, 201213 yr Please post your computer specs. If you have Windows 7, please go to the following site - http://www.nirsoft.net/ - and download AppCrashView then run it. It will provide you with information on every crash, every freeze that occurred in your computer. Let me know what it says about FSX. September 12, 201213 yr Author Hi! my computer specs are: AMD Phenom X6 1950xt or something similar;) Nvidia Geforce GFX 460 4gb Ram FSX has run good until just lately, the only thing I can imagine is that I have installed and unistall a couple of AI-packages... So thats why my guess is at I might have conflicting AI-packages running at the same time... I have already tried AppCrashView,... but that doesnt register anything...:-s The computer runs fine its just that FSX seems to give up the loading process :-) Its especially caused when I change any settings for example lower the amount of AI-traffic from 100% to a lower value, that causes the "crash" every time... September 12, 201213 yr Hi Niklas! Since you have nothing in the AppCrashView, FSX did not crash. When FSX freezes, it's because of two main reasons, a memory issue or a software install where FSX is trying to find a texture, a gauge, or a component being called and can't find it. Can't you uninstall one of the AI packages? Which AI packages are installed? If you want to uninstall one of the packages, look in the Add/Remove Programs and look for one of the packages and uninstall it. If you are not sure where that is located, click on the Start button in the lower left corner and type uninstall in the search bar then look up in the menu and click on Uninstall a Program. September 12, 201213 yr Author I have already uninstalled the AI-packages using the add/remove function in the control panel... however when i looked in my FSX folder I still found folders with names that told me they belong to the already uninstalled packages And lately I have been installing WOAI packages... and I have noticed that sometimes it seems like I have almost double traffic... it goes from 0 to like 100 aircrafts in a second... ( I know this is not proof of double AI, but i got a feeling tht this might be the case) Okay, today it crashed again, and this time I found an event in APPCRASHVIEW... not sure if its the current hanging... but still, its the same problem as Im having right now, I hope this helps anyone:) Version=1 EventType=AppHangB1 EventTime=129914331175309873 ReportType=3 Consent=1 UploadTime=129914332365477946 ReportIdentifier=95f18439-f858-11e1-a82f-00241dc28cd5 IntegratorReportIdentifier=95f1843a-f858-11e1-a82f-00241dc28cd5 WOW64=1 Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Application Name Sig[0].Value=fsx.exe Sig[1].Name=Application Version Sig[1].Value=10.0.61637.0 Sig[2].Name=Application Timestamp Sig[2].Value=46fadb14 Sig[3].Name=Hang Signature Sig[3].Value=5390 Sig[4].Name=Hang Type Sig[4].Value=513 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=1053 DynamicSig[22].Name=Additional Hang Signature 1 DynamicSig[22].Value=539078a38451c06288953b99d72c11a2 DynamicSig[23].Name=Additional Hang Signature 2 DynamicSig[23].Value=e60a DynamicSig[24].Name=Additional Hang Signature 3 DynamicSig[24].Value=e60a26e91ae56c17225e8eb32436d165 DynamicSig[25].Name=Additional Hang Signature 4 DynamicSig[25].Value=5390 DynamicSig[26].Name=Additional Hang Signature 5 DynamicSig[26].Value=539078a38451c06288953b99d72c11a2 DynamicSig[27].Name=Additional Hang Signature 6 DynamicSig[27].Value=e60a DynamicSig[28].Name=Additional Hang Signature 7 DynamicSig[28].Value=e60a26e91ae56c17225e8eb32436d165 UI[3]=Microsoft Flight Simulator® is not responding UI[4]=If you close the program, you might lose information. September 12, 201213 yr Most likely there's a problem with the dll.xml with a corrupted entry still there relating to the AI program. There is a repair program for the dll.xml - http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library. There's a registry repair program there too which will cause no harm to your system to run. You might want to also rename your fsx.cfg to fsx.orig then restart fsx and let the config rebuild. See if the problem still occurs. If it does, then simply delete the config and rename the orig back to fsx.cfg. I would also run a freeware registry cleaner like CCleaner. September 13, 201213 yr There was a thing called Traffic toolbox that I dont know where it comes from so i deleted that entry, Not good. Traffic toolbox is part of the FSX SDK and Mission Creations: Your dll.xml should look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> < SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> < /SimBase.Document> You can copy and paste this into a new text editor like Notepad and save it as dll.xml (after you rename your current one). You will then have to reinstall some addons that were listed in the original dll.xml such as those required by PMDG and FSUIPC if you do this or use that program and extract the sections from your current dll.xml and put those sections into the new dll.xml. September 14, 201213 yr Author Then im glad i did a backup of the dll file first of all;) Ok... well i guess the dll file isnt part of the problem for my freezes:( Niklas Eriksson
September 14, 201213 yr Glad you backed up the dll.xml first. Saved you some time. According to the error report, the last module loaded, msxml13.dll, is related to dotnet framework. Windows 7 has version 4.0 installed with the operating system but FSX is an old program and developers used version 2 through 3. Dotnet framework programs are not backward compatible. Dotnet framework allows developers to manage their software/addons so that it runs properly and it also manages memory. Download the latest dotnet setup verifier - http://blogs.msdn.co...13/8999004.aspx. It will tell you if you have all the versions properly installed. If not, you'll need to download and install the ones required. It looks like something did not install properly and that's the mission of Microsoft Visuals C++ Redistributables 2005, 2008, and 2010. Look in your add/remove programs and make sure all of those MSV's are installed. You need the 32 bit ones as FSX is a 32 bit operating system. Windows update might install the 64 bit and that's okay too. If you can, look back to what you installed prior to this issue. If it was the traffic packages, uninstall them and see if this fixes the problem. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
