CYWGv1.01 has arrived...

Featured Replies

It's here in the AVSIM file library. Created by Adam Bentley and David Madge. :D Adam

Yep, grabbed it last night. Very nice... :)

Very nice indeed, especially being from YWG and flying out of there on a regular basis, I can say this is a very accurate model!!The only changes I made were in the AFCAD file.. Winnipeg Tower Primary Frequency is 118.3 not the 121 frequency that MS has supplied that they use, just get AFCAD and delete the other 2 tower frequencies and you'll be using the correct one all the time.Chris

Thanks guys. Chris, thanks for that info. Anything else you notice, please bring to my attention. I'll be sure to add that in the next release.Adam

Great scenery, indeed a very very accurate representation of the real counterpart. It amazed me how this scenery has virtually no impact what so ever in the FPS, the photoreal textures are very small in size but great quality, it's a scenery well done...great job guys, congrats.Carlos.

Thanks Carlos! I'm glad you're happy with it after the wait. ;-) As far as the fps go, I have to thank Craig Mosher (Craig and Steven Mosher authors of CYHZ, CYYQ, CYQM) for that as one of the first things he told me was to use less polygons and more textures for 3-D 'effect'. We're very pleased with the performance ourselves.Enjoy it and be sure to look for the other 8 or so airports to be released soon. They are intended as part of the package.Take care, Adam

It looks great! Thank you guys kindly for this scenery :D

Beautiful job guys. I can almost hear the mosquitoes. :-)BlairCYOW

Thanks and you are most welcome Fred. It's just nice to finally be able to give something back to the FS community after all these years.Adam

Hey Blair, my wife and I will be driving through Ottawa in about 3 days. My plan is to get pics of a number of the smaller airports on the way back to New Brunswick so that David and I can make more sceneries. I'm afraid CYWO would be a bit large to capture in a short visit, but if you or anyone you know was willing to get pics, I think I could convince David to work on that scenery with me. Keep it in mind!Adam

Just to thank you for a nice rendition of Winnipeg...well done!Barney

How many Winnipeg flightsimmers are we? Be interesting to organize some sort of winnipeg flightsim fan get-together or something...

Hi Adam:I hope you have time to drop into the Canada Aviation Museum at Rockcliffe when you're in Ottawa. It's a great collection, particularly if you like bush planes and warbirds.BTW, Paul Mainville did a very good CYOW. It's available at http://www.vnwa.com/Noramair/RegardsBlair

Gawd, I wish your team would do something for CYEG. MSFS's layout for CYEG is not bad, and a reasonably easy upgrade for your guys with a nice connection from CYYG, CYYC, CYEG and CYVR! (Yeah, right)Anyway, thanks for CYWG. I may be looking for a new base? ;-)Ron McLeod - CYEG

At least 3, from what has been obviously said in this thread.... :(You, Chris_CYWG and me :)Going to go download as soon as I submit this post.. Got the Manuel Santos CYWG package, but I found it too hard on my framerates when I tried it, though I hadn't finished re-tweaking after a system reinstall at that time....
