Problem: modules not appearing in Addons menu

Featured Replies

Hiya

I'd be glad of your opinion of this problem.

In my modules folder I have:

  • FUSIPC
  • CumulusX
  • WinchX
  • Accufeel
  • simlogger

I also run TrackIR5 and EZCA. Ezca runs and the GUI appears but is 'dead' and no longer connects to FSX and therefore TrackIR is u/s.

FUSIPC appears in my addons menu but the others don't.

Of the other 4 items, the processes run, the interfaces appear but they don't connect to FSX.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have deleted andf reinstalled dll.xml and rebuilt fsx.cfg.

I suspect a registry problem.

However, is there some other 'xml' file that might be at fault?

I have tried to 'restore' by running an earlier backup.

No avail.

Reinstall FSX?

Many thanks.

Check that they are enabled in the file dll.xml normally found on Win 7 in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX.

A typical section should read

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>

Done that, and they are, thank you however.

I imagine you checked that the paths are correct too. Beyond that I'm afraid i've run out of suggestions.

Maye an exe.xml entry is required?

Other than that, what does the XML file look like, when you open it with Internet Explorer? Are there seperate lines (as in post #2) or are all the lines "compressed" with only the black entries (i.e. the name of the module, true/false, the modules's path) shown?

The second one occured to me a few times in the past, causing that nothing is shown in the tool bar. i don't know why that is, though.

Can you post your dll.xml file here so we can take a look?

Mine's formatted the same.

XML files are plain text and I prefer to use a text editor. My favourate is NotePad++.
