September 14, 201213 yr Hi there is it possible to get a print of the atis info on airports in the flightplan in pmdg 737 ngx???like they can in real?? rrjensen
September 14, 201213 yr That's done via ACARS which PMDG haven't modeled. Not really needed in FSX, plenty of ways to get the ATIS. I use the Active Sky Wxr Report :-) - Luke Pabari
September 16, 201213 yr The reason ACARS isn't modelled is that it is a 2-way system. The Aircraft ACARS requests data from a specific source (addressed via text) and receives a response. In basic terms it is a bit like an Email. Some addresses have people on the other end typing back, and others are an automated response. An ATIS via ACARS is an automated response. The ATIS ACARS receives updates (from the atis file, updated by ATC or automatically generated in some circumstances) and sends this response back. The problem is which source to poll? Do they just poll the FSX native ATIS? That's all well and fine flying offline, but what if you are on VATSIM? How to tell the difference? What if FSX Native ATIS said runway 22R is the active for landing and takeoff, but Vatsim has 22L and 35 for landing and 22R for takeoff? IVAO might be different again. If you are using Activesky Evolution it might even make the native FSX atis change it's mind when the next weather update uploads. We quickly run into problems. September 17, 201213 yr There shouldn't be any confusion. Just use FSX ATIS data. FSX ATIS gives current FSX weather, whether that is set by the user, FSX real world data, VATSIM or IVAO. Appears to work seamlessly to me.
September 21, 201213 yr Author just want to have a program where i can set up the runway app before getting it on atc.maybe print it out before or so?? rrjensen
