September 17, 201213 yr Hello, I always hoped that I would never have to post here, but oh well... Anyway, I start FSX Deluxe with Acceleration and both SP's installed fine, but when I try to click on one of the menu options on the left (multiplayer, settings, etc) nothing happens for a few seconds but after that a fatal error and CTD. I was hoping that somebody could help me out with this, perhaps they had a simlar problem and fixed it somehow? This has never happened to me since I bought FSX back in 2007, and a reinstall would be a nightmare as I have numerous payware aircraft, some which require money to redownload. Thanks. James Milligan
September 17, 201213 yr Hello James First thing to try if you don't have it. Download UIAutomationCore.dll (version 6.0.6001.18000, link from Word Not Allowed's) is a must. Just place it in your FSX folder, nothing else to do. This simple "fix" solved your type of problem for most of us) FSX CRASHES WHEN USING MENUS Also I would get FSUIPC, it’s free, but the registered version has more features, it solves a lot of FSX issues, and the latest versions even solve some of the dreaded g3d.dll errors Cheers Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
September 17, 201213 yr Author Hi, Thanks for your quick reply. That link seems to be 404'ing, and a quick look around isn't finding any more for me. Could you possibly re-link? Thanks James Milligan
September 17, 201213 yr Ok Word Not Allowed's link is down, here is another link by Paul Paul J You can download this from here, place it in the FSX root folder and rename it as "UIAutomationCore.dll" (no quotes) http://forum.avsim.net/topic/384404-my-uiautomationcoredll-nightmare/#entry2462139 Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
September 17, 201213 yr Author It worked! Thank you so much for your help, exactly what I needed. Stupid dll files... or lack of... Thanks!, Resolved. James Milligan
September 17, 201213 yr Glad it worked, also consider FSUIPC. Go Fly and enjoy. Cheers Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
September 17, 201213 yr Author Yes, I've used FSUIPC for some time now. It's useful for configuring flight control systems James Milligan
September 19, 201213 yr Just a quick note - The version number should be 6.0.5840.16386. This is the Vista 32-bit version, and works well with FSX. Place it into the root folder of FSX. DON'T put it anywhere else. Version 6.0.6001.18000 will also work, but it also will fail occasionally, whereas 5840.16386 does not fail at all. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
September 22, 201213 yr Author Alright, i've changed it over to the 6.0.5840.16386 version. Still working great. Thanks, James Milligan
