Gauges won't show up?

Featured Replies

I've tried both the vc and 2D panel. The spots where gauges should show my horizon, my location in terms of heading, and those types of things just have a black screen. This is probably an easy fix but I just bought it haha. Does anybody know how I can make this information actually be displayed?

Ok, and also, so your post doesn't get deleted: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/361815-pmdg-forum-rules-please-read-before-posting/

First things first, do you have a screenshot of the problem? Snipping Tool? "V"? FRAPS? Anything?

Is the airplane's battery on? Or is there ground power?

I can get a screen shot if needed. I have no clue whether the battery is on - how do you do that?

EDIT: I would like to add that nearly every button is not clickable, all the switches etc don't even have the 'hand' icon appear when hovering over them.

Ok, so the airplane is probably set to cold & dark. Forget the picture.

Are you familiar with the included manuals that came with your NGX? Tutorial 2 helps you turn on the 737 from cold & dark, which if you want to do, try that one. (IMO, if you're new to the airplane, I would read both manuals. They helped me a lot when I was learning. And still am!)

Okay I will try the 2nd manual - the first one didn't help me much at all. I will get back to you.

Okay, I went through the second one.... and now... like I said I can't even click on anything it just won't let me - so attempting to turn on battery power isn't even possible because it doesn't allow me to click it... HELP :O

Okay here's the picture. I wasn't able to capture in it the fact that the cursor does not change to a hand in order to change between off/on on ANY function in the aircraft. As you can see, everything is black, no lights are on, even for the gear. Also the FMC is unusable as it is black-screened along with everything else.

Hmm, I don't want to sound nosy or anything because, it is not my problem, but is your copy legitimate?

Yes i purchased it legitimately. Using the PMDG website is legitimate... you don't sound nosy haha because it's a valid question. Either way, is there a way to fix this or have I just wasted $70....?

Well, the reason I asked, there is a lot of people who torrent the NGX, register here on AVSIM, post here on the OFFICIAL PMDG forums, and then they ask for help with the NGX showing black screens, which is an anti-piracy measure. Sorry.

What I would do now is reinstall the NGX, if that doesn't help, then just send a support ticket to PMDG at http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx You will need to create a account, separate from the account you used to buy the NGX.

That really irritates me. I reinstalled it, verified it contained all the service packs, and it still won't work. I can turn the engines on, just nothing in the cockpit works.

Yeah well the best thing to do right now is to send them a support ticket, and attach that picture you put in this post, too, so they can see what is going on. Don't worry, they reply really fast. You will be up and running soon.
